Just an info, the last girl, the one who hits those high notes, her name is Marsha Milan. She started off her career as a singer about 15 years ago, but now she’s mostly known to Malaysian as an actress. She’s an amazing singer and I hope she wins something from AJL. It’s about time.

Happy new year Yazik! And thank your for this reaction, will be waiting for some of your reaction of some of the songs, (or better save it for the final performance! hahah). But AJL is Anugerah Juara Lagu which is literally translate Song Champion Awards, so the judges might need to consider the song itself such as lyrics and music arrangements beside the performance and vocal of the singer. This is because they wanted to be fair because behind a good performance, the lyricist, song writer and music producer also need to be acknowledged and rewarded as well. But I bet, for best vocal award, this time, Khai Bahar n Aina song or Lara might won (but Marsha is a good fight too!), base on my perspectives, as rumors said Ernie cant perform. Hahahah. Btw, love your honest reaction by the way you choose your words is so wise, you commenting in a good way even though is a critique. Hope to see your next reaction soon!

Hi Yazik,
I think you have misunderstood the competition here. AJL is not a vocal competition. It's actually a song competition. Big portion of the marking system will be judged based on the composition, arrangement and creativity of the songs. Then it will come down to the lyrics and finally to the vocal and performance of the night. Most probably vocals will only contributing not more than 20% of the marks. So its anyone's game here.

I have one request, could you please do a reaction to Siti Nordiana, the one that you said has sweet delicate voice. She's my number one favourite singer in Malaysia. And, I really do want to know even a little bit about her voice. She's popular in Malaysia with a very huge and powerful fans club, like so popular that whenever she get nominated for award that requires fans' vote, everyone can guess, she would win. But, in my humble opinion who know nothing about music, her voice isn't as powerful as Aina Abdul, isn't as angelic as Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza, and she doesn't use much dinamic too. However, it seems like that her voice what catched our heart and loved her so much, of course because of her beautiful personality as well. But, I couldn't stop wondering about her techniques and whatsoever about her voice. If you ever consider to react to her performance, I would really appreciate it. And, here's a recommendation for her live performances that for me quiet outstanding and really showcases her voice.
1. Siti Nordiana- Putus Terpaksa (Gegar Vaganza)
This is her performance on final stage of one reality singing competition for veteran singers. This is one of ever green song from Ziana Zain. This song popular for it high note and this song brought her to winning this prestidge competition. That was her great comeback to the industry, since the winning she is one of the veteran/old generation singer who could stay relevance in Malaysia music industry today.
2. Siti Nordiana - Angkara (SFMM36)
This is one latest performance from her, singing her quiet latest song, the song that brought her to AJL for the first time bringing her very own solo song. Plus, this is the best live performance of this song she ever delivered (again, from my very humble opinion).
Edited : If you want to do a reaction on this song, maybe you could wait for her AJL performance. Because I'm sure it would be even more all out and amazing!

Hii happy new year yazikk first of all i would like to clarify AJL is basically a competition initially for the composer and lyricist ( winner, 1st and 2nd runner up) and singers can be credited to perform the song really well but it is really not a vocal battle but then made the ' best performance award ' and in 2002 the created this best vocal performance ( liza hanim was the first one to win it ) so every aspect of the song is being judged like how the lyrics impact society ( Sepi was about her struggle, Boneka is women empowerment, so theyre more likely to give impact ) and creativity of how it suits modern music i guess i cant say much im really not sure.. Secondly, i dont want to blame you or the person who request but the video provided to you didnt do justice( im sorry again ) really it dont portrays the studio version of it some is acoustics so it really give false impression ( but it is the best around ) so since u knew the title u can check it from the sfmm36 if u want they are available on youtube.. Thirdly, marsha milan is a singer and actress who came into the industry around 2004 she is only little bit younger than misha omar i guess shes not new but totally one of the most most underrated vocalists in here alongside idayu and all ( just because they didnt get like super hit songs ) u can find her early performance in Akademi Fantasia ( AF ) im telling you she improve SOOOO MUCHH i guess she learned from Syafinaz ( i think marsha also have classical training and she can do whistle too )

To be honest, I like Sepi by Aina as well but composition wise, I think her previous songs Sumpah and Semalam were better. But of course Aina is in the running to win best vocal. And if the judges prefer a classic Malay ballad, Sepi has a high chance of winning.

Just to clarify this, the priority of AJL is to pick the best of the best song, which focuses on lyrics, music, and composer.. Vocal & performance are just a bonus. one thing you should know,in ajl they judge only 40% vocal and the 60% is the song and the lyrics suit the tittle Anugerah Juara Lagu (Songs Championship Award) but there is also specific awards for the singers - Persembahan Terbaik(Best Performance) and - Vokal terbaik(Best Vocal)
For your info this Juara Lagu is more on SONG not singer....this event are to recognize the song writer..
