I’m doing this exact same travel day. Just arrived in Tagbilaran for the ferry across to Siquijor. I looked for Ryan down by Alona Beach for a ride but didn’t see him. I still had a great trike driver bring me to the port.
Hey, Jonathan, why not try and visit Bacolod City's Masskara Festival next month? It will be a new experience for you. It's like the German Oktoberfest on a tropical setting. It starts in 2 weeks from now and ends on the 22nd of October. But you have to book your accomodations now should you decide to come visit. Enjoy and ayo-ayo!
All of us your subscribers are happy that to know that you are just fine and this time back on siquijor again. Enjoy and take care. By the way chicken nuggets was hilarious 😂.
I miss Siquijor. I went to the people right by the port and they rented me a motorbike for 300 a day. I did rent it for five days so I’m sure that helped with the price. I definitely want to explore more places in the Philippines but definitely will visit Siquijor again. Great video
Dumaguete has a great college town vibe with an awesome seaside promenade next to the pier. Ferry trips to Siquijor are rather frequent, could have been sort of a fun sidetrip on your way to Siquijor.
Welcome back to Siquijor, my dear friend! I am absolutely thrilled that you've returned to our beautiful island so soon, and I cannot wait to see all the amazing adventures you'll embark on during your stay. Your vlogs always bring a smile to my face, and I'm eagerly looking forward to watching your latest videos showcasing the wonders of my beloved home. It's wonderful to know that you'll be exploring even more of Siquijor this time around. I'm sure you'll discover countless new gems that will take your breath away. And of course, no trip to our island would be complete without hopping on a motorbike and cruising around the scenic roads.
Hi! thank you for watching! Honestly, this might be my favorite island in the country. It’s hard to choose, though haha. It’s so relaxed here in Siquijor! I really love it!

Of all the vloggers in Asia especially Philippines your video is my fave. Your positivity and kindness makes me smile and look forward to your future videos. Thank you! ❤❤❤
I was just in Bohol last week..spent a week at the beach! So Love It! Welcome back to Siquijor! You have another ripped hat there. I wonder how much adventure they've been hahaha Plan B! Lol😂
Nice video . Good job. Glad you like Philippines. We've been there in soquijor like 3 weeks ago with my girl and we enjoy a lot cause soquijor is a nice place ❤️❤️
Hey man been following you for a while now love your videos .I’m originally from siquijor now living here in California , thanks for showing the island on your vlog. I guess your there for the festival? Also I personally know that person help you get that helmet with a face shield his a very good friend of mine.. there’s plenty of retired pilipino from California in that island, someday I’ll do the Same..Enjoy the island ayo ayo
A note to Jonathan’s followers, you do NOT have to check in larger backpacks.. it b.s… I do what the locals do… there’s a place on the ferry usually towards the front of all the seating … you’ll see others bags. Just refuse to check bag… make it like you’ll do it, but later.
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Oh they’ll tell any non Philippine for sure, but I continue to use my same strategy bcuz I always arrive so early…” I need to get in it still and/or I’ll do it closer to departure time. Then we start loading and I just wear it right onto the ferry and put it with all the other bags, suitcases, boxes, that the Philippino peeps bring on and DONT CHECK IN AS WELL. only 2 things I’ve grown to dislike in the Philippines after figuring it all out. 1. The check bag at ferry thing. I dislike bcuz on one crossing my bag for soaked and went all inside my pack as well. So, I never do it anymore especially after seeing ppl being large bags and cases onto ferry. And 2. The double the rate guys waiting at ferry terminals to bring you into town. Always asking or starting at double the real avg. costs. In Bohol, I got an air con van all to myself for 400. Siquijor 250 trike into San Juan area, they use that shorter road that cuts straight over the mountain to other side. and those guys at the Cebu port! My god, they’ll ask for nearly 3 times what an actual “white meter taxi will cost”. btw, I gave your Alona gal scooter business, she gave me a 285 rate/day, bcuz I rented long time. so thank you Alona.
Yes you need some body massage with all that anxiety, you’re going through a little massage will be good for you, we are residing in the state of Arizona we love taking vacation in the Philippine island when it’s rainy season because it cools off the sky with lots of clouds, we love seeing rain we don’t have a lot of that in the state of Arizona Jonathan we’re going to Palawan on month of November December January we’re going to places where you went. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, thank you for the videos. Just a suggestion ... if you could group your videos by towns or something it would be helpful. When watching if we watch one and then want to watch the next one it does not come up and is very difficult to find. Maybe look at some other channels. I'm not sure how to set all that up. Thanks again. Your videos are good.
13:28 The food you ordered is chicken inasal meal that’s why it comes with rice, the soy sauce with calamansi and chilli should be mixed together as a dip for the chicken. Filipinos don’t eat chicken on it’s own, it is always paired with a cup of rice because it is called “ulam” in tagalog or “sud-an” or “sula” in bisaya. Ulam means food that is eaten with rice. You’ve been living in PH for 1 year, you should notice that restaurant or eatery staff are shocked or confused or speechless everytime you buy ulam without rice and eat it on its own. I watched many of your videos and I cringe everytime you eat ulam on it’s own. Filipino ulam are usually salty that’s why it is eaten with plain rice to balance the taste. Unless you’re on a keto diet or on a low carb diet you should try eating our ulam with rice it is more delicious and filling.
It's like going from one magical island to another, where your GPS might say 'Are you sure about this?' but your heart says 'Adventure awaits!'. Hopefully, one of these days, my darts would hit the Philippines and get to experience amazing things like that one!
Hey thank you for watching! Yes, the Samal trip didn’t last very long. Traveling to make these videos gets expensive, so I went back to Bohol for a bit where I pay monthly rates for my room and bike. But now I’m back making the next series in Siquijor!

Wow I didn’t know you where from Alabama what part? I am from Madison Alabama and I have an apartment in Calbayog, love your videos you do a good job on them
I just heard you say something SO AMERICAN! "Yeah, I think I'll have some soy sauce with my rice." If I may share my first real Asian experience with you: I'm a born and raised San Diego native of Scottish heritage, ie; a white guy, like you. I was 20 years old back in 1982 when I met my first wife. She was Thai, from BKK, Thailand. I had two children with her, they are 39 & 35 now. My daughter (35) gave me two grandchildren (11 & 6). When I sat down for my first home cooked Thai meal with her, she made a Chinese brocolli, beef with a oyster sauce gravy dish, two other dishes, and a large bowl of steamed rice. I honestly let her serve herself first so that I could watch and learn. Why? Because if it was up to me, I'd be putting butter or soy sauce on my rice so I could eat that separate from the "main dish"! But wait, there are THREE dishes on the table...??? First thing I noticed was the silverware was set with a TABLESPOON on the right, and a fork on the left. My wife then started serving by putting a substantial portion of rice in the center of her plate. She then served smaller portions of the three dishes on her plate to the SIDE of the rice (note: she DID NOT put the dishes on top of her rice). She then picked up her SPOON in her right hand, and the fork in her left. She used the spoon to scoop up a portion of one of the sides, using the back of the fork to push the portion onto the spoon. This method of fork and spoon coordination is KEY when eating meals with rice! Why? BECAUSE RICE DOESN'T BALANCE VERY WELL ON A FORK! Seriously, work smarter, not harder, you'll get use to it. Furthermore, she would then use this same method to eat her meal; scoop up a portion of a dish, put it on top of the rice, then scoop up both rice and dish into her mouth. This way, the bite sized portion of rice is flavored by the dish you put on top of it. Even soup is eaten this way, a spoon full of broth and contents is pored over a bite sized portion of rice, then scooped up to be eaten. Dishes with a sauce or gravy is THE BOMB when eaten with rice this way! If the rice gets low (it will) load up some more! Bro, no more soy sauce or butter on rice needed! Not proud that I eventually remarried but, this time to a Filipina (2002). I had one child with her... he's eighteen now, and I have continued eating this way to this day 40 years later...to include using only your hands! There's an art to this too but, that's another story🤣🤣🤣
And don’t rent from the ferry area like he did with the motorbikes. You can get bikes from 309-350 in San Juan area, to be specific, i haggled mine down to 250/day on a weekly, once in San Juan area, guesthouses rent them 300 to 350
