Mushu’s breed is one of the least “playful dog” breeds. Now they’re getting the exact opposite in a golden retriever. Going to love to see the combination together

@@DGen7 because Retriever is not for people who have never took care of a dog before, they need experience and they were really busy so they chose a breed with less attention requirement

I genuinely appreciate you introducing the dogs properly. You see so many videos online of owners just letting the puppy loose in front of an unrestrained older dog.

major tip is to put a blanket over lilo’s crate during night time so she sleeps much better snd easier. if she cries, tap the crate gently so she knows your there. it helped us so much and helps the puppy sleep so much.

@@shannon7133all dogs have different personalities but the breeds do have certain traits which I think the original comment may have misconstrued
So for example chowchows are generally independent territorial dogs that are aggressive towards most animals while retrievers are generally kind and caring dogs that prefer animal socialisation. In saying that the dogs personalities depend solely on the owners training and care for them. These are just dominant traits in their breeds

I sctually love this type of content, takes me back to the old simon vlogs, but these vlogs are almost better cause they feel so much more personable yet still really entertaining.
Lilo is also really adorable but pretty funny how her and mushu are basically opposite breeds in terms of stereotypical energy levels, cant wait to see how they fit with each other once Lilo grows up a bit

As someone who owns a golden retriever prepare for the opposite of mushu, she is going to be jumping upside down on walls which might sound impossible probably because it is.

Thats what our issue was. We really wanted to adopt but every rescue near us had papers (weve been to over 7 or 8 in the area driving hours away) saying dont do well with other dogs, dont do well with cats dont do well with kids etc. one rescue was asking 800-900 per mixed breed puppy too. With us being on a farm its hard to have grown dogs around especially when all the dogs at the rescues had high prey drives. Its better to train a puppy near chickens, ducks, rabbits etc vs an actual older dog or one thats wont get along well with our other dogs or cats. So we had to always get from breeders. Breeders arent too bad esp if its a good reputable one. You know exactly what breed your getting and temperment etc. most dogs in shelters are mixed and they can get aggressive. One lady took her pit mix to a vet because out of no where it attacked them. Come to find out because it was mixed with a bigger breed its brain was pushing up against its skull causing it to be aggressive. So really you dont know what your getting vs a good reputable breeder you know exactly what your getting. Its hard but not everyone can adopt a shelter dog they need special families that have proper home for their needs. But that shouldnt mean those that want one cant find one through breeders. We always wanted a shelter dog but couldnt risk them attacking our other animals but needed a gaurd dog for the farm. But its very understandable but i know its a touchy subject.

Fill the cage up with some boxes or anything which will make the cage smaller. It is too big for her size atm. If you keep it this size she will pee and poo in one corner and sleep in the other!
And another thing for the sleeping at night. Cover the cage with a blanket so she can’t see anything which also makes her calmer. Don’t close the door immediately but make sure she lays down on her own while blocking the open door. Then slowly close the door when she calms down!
As a person whos the same age as u simon and have 2 dogs one being a golden this video makes it so wholesome! Keep these videos coming!!! So happy for you guys

If you’re looking for a good dog bed that is supportive and you can remove the cover and easily wash it. I highly suggest the “Barney Bed” dog bed. It comes with a basic cover and a water resistant cover underneath that to protect the memory foam/dense foam (they also have a variety of other covers to choose from that you can choose to match the room). I bought the waterproof cover to replace the water resistant one. It’s an Australia company. 12:36 😊 My rough collie has the large and loves it. Hope that helps if you ever read this comment 😂

Recently got a Goldie too, such an amazing breed! - Lilo is adorable, her and Mushu make a cute pair! - Great vid! - I was the one staying up with mine, and it took a couple of weeks until mine could do the whole night without needing someone. - but every dog is different!

worst thing you can do is wash a puppy the scent of the puppy is important for older dogs to understand that they are allowed to be wild with them
I really recommend Ivy and Duke for beds, I have a huge Doberman and the beds are so cosy for them and completely washable. You can even buy spare bed covers and keep all the inner padding so it would last years. Congrats on the pup
