Boros is the closest deck we've seen to D&T do well in a long time!

@@MTGScoundrels I feel like its closer to Jund (but better) than D&T to be honest-way more value engage than tax effects/mana denial. That and I think the white orchid plan is not a very good one. Maybe that will change in Tron/Eldrazi start picking up meta-game shear, but at the moment not many lists that are posting results run it anymore. That said, love the deck and LOVE to see anyone playing Grief take a fat L lol.

@@Rainfall That's fair I had made mention to some people that Boros is the new Jund of the format and they didn't believe me lol.

THank you all for helping us get to our first 100subs! What decks do you think are currently the best in the format?

19:33 did the Boros player cracked a wooded foothills for a plains? 🤔

Good catch! I'll make sure to let the player know. Sometimes you just get in a mode and completely forget what your fetch cracks for!

I'm gonna be honest, I'd be more willing to forgive a 2-color player for fetching incorrectly þan a 4/5 color player. Especially assuming 2 color isn't playing >4 fetches anyway. We, as a player base, need to evolve past offcolor fetches. When was þe last time anyone *actually* named a fetch land w Needle??
Edit: boros list is 7 fetches, only 1 is Arid Mesa, and only 3 lands are plains *and* mountains. Yikes.

Last time I did was nabbing needle off of an urza's saga that the search couldn't be responded too lol.

I talked to the player about it.

I'm assuming the necro strategy is to go face with orcish bowmaster rather than kill ajani so their soul spikes are more effective once they've resolved a necrodominance?

There is a certain damned if you do damned if you don't with Ajani. There probably is a line where if you slam necro that you'll draw down to soul spike or to fatal push and that will solve the issue.
Once the channel is big enough I'd like to get two more cameras fixated on the hands of each player which could help provide more background to player decisions.

Necro player on camera here -
The hand in games 1 and 3 were a little rough, in that they only had 2 lands. I could have held the bowmasters back until I could double cast to kill Ajani, but I valued the blockers more at the time. A flipped Ajani is one of the last things I wanted to see as I had failed to properly sideboard in Toxic Deluge to clear the board.
Edit - A line of play I didn't consider at the time in game 1 is killing the cat token at end of turn to force flip the Ajani, then casting the second bowmasters on my mainphase to allow the lethal swing in on the flipped Ajani. Probably should have gone for that line.

Yeah not finding the third land was unfortunate.

Necro will be the best deck after Nadu is banned.
