Villa Villekula - The Crags, Plettenberg Bay, South Africa

Villa Villekula was built by Willie and Daniela.
It was not merely a plan they commissioned or a structure they raised... This is the culmination of a 10-year dream. They spent years collecting antique furniture without a place to put it, they used their two hands to build the house, panel by panel, nail by nail. For more than two months they had no running water or electricity, but persevered still - with the newly discovered dam as their bathtub.
What they have now is a home; a home that they open up to you.
I remember standing in the kitchen on the first evening we arrived as Willie and Daniela were cooking up a storm. We were chatting, we were laughing and it felt as if we'd come back home after a long journey, we felt like we could share our stories, we felt like we could rest.
We cannot encourage you enough to visit this completely unique, entirely eco-friendly and filled-with-loving-and-cute-animals home called Villa Villekula.
