    I have been skiing for 45 years and I have been in numerous collisions with other skiers. It happens , no one wants it to happen and when it does, pick your self, make sure the other person is ok and go on with your ski day. With that said I am extra cautious around beginners and kids because a person never knows what they are going to do and it’s up to the more experienced skier to avoid them. It’s called situational awareness. I have never run into a kid nor had a near accident with one in my years of skiing.

I was going pretty fast and halfway into turn i didnt see some ice so i went straight into a guy and took him out because i couldnt stop quick enough. I knew he was pretty advanced as i saw him infront of me before the collison. That's certainly not my take bro. Yes the guy that was ran into by the kid reacted badly but that could have been just instinctive and after shaking himself down and taking a breath he could have ended up laughing it off and apologizing if given the opportunity. Instead, dad and random dickwad in black went on the immediate attack, giving him no option but to defend himself and things quickly spiral out of control. Great adulting by all three of them. You really think the guy is a good dad by showing his son the best way to handle a volatile situation is to go on the immediate attack (which he did by calling him a name in the first sentence) and not attempt to diffuse first? I hope the kid was taking notes on how not to handle such a situation in the future.

It is even ok to let the ski resort know in a polite way. But getting in a huge argument and escalating like that is totally across the line. All of us had to learn at some point and a little crash like that, although unfortunate, is not unexpected and part of the risk of skiing. This is not an adult acting reckless to try to get speed, just a little kid learning to turn and a beginner run. I think if we forget what it is like to be a kid and to learn we forget our roots and it’s important to remember the road to where we are now.

    As a skier, I hate seeing things like this go down, because it's almost always the skier being a jerk. I hope they pulled this guy's pass for the season. There's no excuse for behavior like that. I hope your family's still enjoying the stoke together!

      in my country, at least on the few ski resorts where i went to people were extremely nice. since im a beginner i accidentally fell on a few people but they said that its okay and that accidents happen.
      though there are a lot of people who sit on the skiing area and if youre not experienced enough its hard to avoid them.
      after all no one wants to hurt you, its just accidental and it could happen to everyone

      And kinda sad since the snowboard dad really wasnt totally innocent, he could have said sorry for his kids fault and just went on instead of wasting a whole day. Glad people are much nicer here in europe, never seen any ski police because of accidents here.

      yeah, that was all taken care of in the first video. I don't think the guy who got run into would have been satisfied regardless. He really just wanted someone to turn back time and correct the mistake. That or he was waiting for the dad to offer up a finger or something in reparations.

      Do you see the irony in your statement. You are saying that you are so level headed that you wouldn't get mad at someone crashing in to you, but at the same time you are so hot tempered that you would immediately knock out an old guy who gets mad at you. What most people would do is to be the adult and just ignore the guy getting angry and move on. Maybe try to de-escelate the situation by apologizing to him, but just move on if he keeps rambling. If the guy actually assaulted the child, I can see why the parents would want to press charges, but from the look of the video, it doesn't look like either party was hurt, so I suspect the child's parents pay also be exaggerating the "assault".

    • @tomwilson3969
      @tomwilson3969 Рік тому

      @Venisor21 not what I was saying at all. You really wasted your time writing that book in the comments lol
      I would get mad at the old guy for the way he was treating the kid. Getting bumped into on the mountain happens. Especially when there is kids. But it's how he acted after that warrants the punch.
      And if you bothered to listen and watch the video. The kid was on a learners run. So you should expect to be run into. And if you puff your chest up at people on a lift line eventually you are going to get hit.
