- Trapped between two planks in a fence, a wounded Virginia opossum struggled for hours. Luckily, Sarah found him and called the Wildlife Hotline for help…
At a dog park near her apartment building, Tammylee noticed a Virginia opossum wandering aimlessly. Appearing weak and disoriented, she knew something was wrong with her…
Both opossums were thankfully rescued and brought to TWC for emergency care - watch them get the urgent help they needed!
Thanks to everyone for their kindness and efforts to save the opossums.
How fortunate we all are to have the Toronto Wildlife Centre and its dedicated team of hard workers. Donating to this organization gives me great satisfaction, knowing every cent is well spent to help needy wildlife like these two featured opossums. Everyone should know that opossums are amazingly helpful in gardens by eating unwanted bugs, etc, and they are absolutely harmless. TWC - you absolutely Rock!
Thank you so much! We couldn't do the work we do without the generous support from kind people like you.
Heartbreaking to know that poor possum was stuck and that one was so ill. Thank goodness for good people who acted and forTWC ❤ for taking care of these amazing little critters.
They're adorable. I'm always amazed they're able to survive our winters, despite the frostbite. Thank you for sharing these amazing rescue stories!

The poor little guy, trapped there! And the poor female with the lead toxicity... So glad you were able to ease their suffering and that they will have a second chance this coming spring because of TWC. I will be looking forward to the release video! You guys are amazing.
