I was in Varanasi this year (October 2022) , my fifth visit there. At Assi ghat I heard a young African backpacker traveler singing this song and playing his guitar, with a pot to collect donations...didn't understand his words except word "Sadho" but the melody was beautiful and this song had something mysterious in it... without even understanding, my eyes were filled with tears...later on when he sang other Hindi songs....I came back requesting him to play and sing the song once again and I was recording him in my camera..by that time one of his strings broke...I asked his number ( to give him credit if I use his clip in my short) but he said.."I don't have a phone....I'm just traveling". It made perfect sense with the song...and later when I searched in youtube I found this...Masterpiece indeed!

The words by Kabirdasji are so powerful that they make you ponder on the realities of life. and also the video is so nicely directed to convey the deep meaning. A small girl is the metaphor for jiva (the soul) with a small pocket of enjoyment (the ice-cream the girl is holding) and the surrounding crowd is the maya (the great illusion). After some time the girl realises that the enjoyment here is not eternal (The ice-cream melts) and she remembers her father (the supreme soul) and starts crying (the soul yearning to meet God) and at last finds him (This is Mokshya/liberation from Maya).
That video.. That voice, that "SadhoOoOo reeeee" Haunts you in a gripping way Over 10 years that i last heard this song, n still coming back. Nothing could resonate the way this resonates

Looking at all this from a perspective that is beyond time, Kabir tell us that if the desire is not to keep going around in circles of time, we should seek what is end-less (and begin-less). Guru Nanak summarizes this beautifully - Jaki Chinta Karo Jo Anhoni Hoi - meditate/focus on that that never happened. In his inimitable way, the great master, Kabir, urges us to break away from the shackles of this village of the dead ruled by Kala or time. Kabir then explains that the sound of Naam is the only true substance of value, which takes us to the absolute source beyond all destinations of birth and death.
Kabir says that all names and forms have to die and time is constantly devouring them. All that is named disappear into the unnamed. He says there is only one thing in existance that is this named-unnamed duality which is not two different thing but one. Because it is named it will soon be unnamed. Named-unnamed duality is infinite and nothing else exists except it. Moral of the story is As long you are named, attached and identify yourself with anything death will never leave you alone. it will constantly follow you and sooner or later you have to disappear into the unnamed and unknown. So if you want to be freed from death do not identify yourself with anything, dont exist as someone or somebody or a individual but disappear into that which is unknown and unnamed. RIP Kabir.

This song, this little ray of light from the universal truth was shed on me one day 15 years ago, I was going through a tough time back then, one all aspects spiritual, personal and financial I was suffering, however the line 'Bhatak Maro Mat Koi' had such a profound affect on me that I made a life changing decision based on the inspiration from these line.
This has been now added to my playlist and I listen this learning when I detach myself from this world once in every month. Good Job guys, Also, I would request you guys to recreate these kind of learnings in your way which are like folk songs in different parts of India to know about thyself. I am from Gujarat and It has so many learnings evolved in past and still being performed in form of bhajans, dyra, etc.

परमात्मा ने आपको एक मकसद से भेजा है। अपने आप को पहचानने का प्रयास कीजिए। आप स्वयं भगवान को पा सकते हैं। बस अपने कदम, अपनी ऊर्जा को अंदर केन्द्र की तरफ मोड़िए। परमेश्वर अंदर ही हैं। तीर्थों का तीर्थ हमारे भीतर ही है। उसमें भीतर प्रवेश करना है, जहां अमृत का झरना बह रहा है। वह आपको पाना है ध्यान द्वारा। ध्यान की तरफ हमें कदम बढ़ाने हैं। ध्यान की ओर चलना तभी संभव होगा, जब आपका हर कृत्य शांति के साथ होगा। एक साधक की पहचान शांति से होती है। तो शांति सूचक है आपकी आंतरिक दशा की। जब आप बाहर से उलझना बंद कर देंगे तब आपके व्यक्तित्व में निखार आता है। जीवन के हर क्षण में जीवंत रहना सीख लीजिए। इससे जो धारा सूख गई है वह प्रवाहित होने लगेगी। परमात्मा की अनुभूति होने लग जाती है। ध्यान की क्रियाओं का क्रम बनाकर यदि लगातार अभ्यास करेंगे तो जब आप नेत्र बंद करके बैठेंगे तो शांति आनी शुरू हो जाएगी। ओ३म् की ध्वनि सहज रूप से सुनाई देने लग जाएगी। यही परम अवस्था है |
