Been riding the T7e on my channel for 2 months now! Love it! I have it over-fork’d to 160mm and mullet’d because it likes to party!🤘🏻Keep up the good work fellas!
This is great, i don't know why the hate with e-bikes, maybe mostly their premium price. For me working full time, an e-bike was definitely a great choice, more time on the down without losing too much time and energy on the climb.
E-bikes changed my riding game as a blue collar worker. I can work stupid long hours outside and it’s kill my energy for big rides. I used to ride so reserved and limit my rides and distances.. not anymore!
I had a math teacher that would buy a season lift ticket and hike up the mountain carrying his skiis and never use the lift , his favorite thing on a mountain bike was hill climb, he was a beast bed squat a lot after class wearing blue jeans and a weight belt, be looked like Egon off Ghostbusters the old Egon. He was a hippy wore a shroom necklace as he taught the class he picked up in Amsterdam
Thanks for reviewing a great bike with a real world price tag. Emtbs are as expensive as dirt bikes these days, and those prices dont make sense, and prohibit most from unlocking the joy that emtbs deliver to the riding experience. We need more bikes with the performance and price balance like the Polygon. Keep these reviews coming 👍👍
You get expensive everything to be fair. Buy a sports car or buy a house for example. Can get an emtb for £2500. Just UA-cam preconceived with weight for some reason. Who's spending £10k on a bicycle lol.
I couldn't agree more. Now just shopping around for eMTB's myself one has to question, what is an affordable eMTB, and being Canadian, $7,500 seems to be the starting point for majority of brands, with a couple dipping into that $6,500 range. What gets me most is looking for reviews on the more realistic bikes in my price range is impossible, as most bikes reviewed tend to be the very top end of the model listing, so it's difficult to interpret the review as to how it may apply to the performance of a lower tier bike in the lineup. So it would be great to start seeing reviews on bike models are base model or one tier above only, rather than the top tier where the price point is in that $10,000 range.
@@KDubber Can't comment on Canada but in the UK a quick search yields full suspension at £2700. Hardtail £2500, even less than that. I spent £4300 in 2020. I wouldn't pay that now. Although I do fancy one with a gearbox. See if I can get that for 48 months interest free next year.
@@border304 The UK seems to have a much broader selection of brands available when it comes to eMTB's... or at least direct to consumer options in addition to what can be bought in-store. At least locally to me, looking at our local bike shops, the brand selection is pretty limited to 3-4 brands. But with all that said, $6,300 MSRP is the cheapest eMTB I have been able to find. Now granted, there are sales going on now that have bikes valued at $7-9K dropped down to $6-7.5k, though there is only one retailer I have seen offering 0% financing for 12 months. Going back to the topic at hand, it's just great to see a review on a bike/model/tier that is realistically in my price range, even when not on sale since I won't be buying until next spring. I just wish we could see reviewers do more of this, instead of always getting that top tier model to tease us with.
I purchased the Polygon Siskiu T6e few months ago and upgraded the fork & shock (Suntour Durolux 36mm / 160mm and the Voro coil shock) made a huge (positive) different in the ride and feel of the Siskiu T6e:)
@@ark530abe still happy with it? Considering buying one for our second Emtb. I have a Trek Rail 7, but my wife is wanting a new bike. Seems like an incredible spec for the sale price of $4299.
Does the loamwolf team have any opinions on the commencal power sx bosch? There never seems to be a lot of media coverage for commencal bikes in general
You might elaborate more on the differences of a trail bike and enduro. It took me buying a YT Capra enduro to truly get the difference. It is night and day harder to climb for me on the enduro. I'm not blessed with power legs like most MTB riders, and getting old. I sold the YT. I really wish someone had explained it fully before I bought and lost money on it.
From what I know. Polygon and Marin bikes are build from the same factory. However Marin in a more popular name brand from North American standards. Would be an interesting comparison.
Getting into the MtB game and was looking for an eMtB with the prices being so attractive. Was wondering what size you are riding in your videos and how tall you are? I am around 5’ 9.5” and was thinking to get a medium size for what I’d be doing with trail riding, not getting too crazy. Thank you for the informative videos!
Want to get this bike for my wife for Christmas, she is a Newbie into MTB, and MTB ebike , seems like this eMTB would be more then enough for a new Rider ? thanks for great video as always! Charlie
Geo numbers look really good. I bought a siskui n9 a while back and just couldn't get a feel for that bike. I think if your coming from specialized stumpjumper, or a norco sight, polygon won't give you the performance your used to. Probably the same with my decoy and levo.
So it’s specced with sram code r brakes but it got shimano slx? Winning! My turbo levo came with code r. My trek fuel ex8 was supposed to have deore but came with slx. 🎉
What pressure/volume spacers are you using at this point in time for your weight? Been messing around with my setup a bit at the moment and keen to get your thoughts.
I had to get rid of Shimano cassette on my ebike because the small cogs (individual plates) would flex under heavy loading and crunch/skip/explode. Have any of your testers experienced the same thing? The issue went away as soon as switched to Sram cassette because it’s one piece. It was on a RF Turbine R wheelset. It only happened under heavy pedaling load and usually turning at same time. Went through 3 cassettes and 5 sets of small cogs thinking it was something else.
Did you guys run into any issues with the steering limiter/knock block component on the headset and crown race? I know another review site had a failure of this on their T7E, wondering if this has affected your experience so far?
I'm looking at jumping into the e-mtb market. What are the top 3 bikes you would recommend at roughly this price point? I like what I see with this one. Great video, thanks!
Marin and Polygon have some great deals, fezzari also has some great sales but a slightly better spec/bike for a little increase in price. Hope that helps n
@@TheLoamWolf definitely helps a lot, thank you! I also just saw that the Collosus is on sale for only $300 more which looks like it has much better components. Any thoughts on that? I appreciate your time👍
The last several Loam Wolf e-ike reviews barely mention the e-bike aspects of performance: assist profiles, battery life, controls, overrun, etc. I want to hear about all e-bike related details. Why are U guys reviewing e-bikes with the same talking points as analog bikes?
Thanks for bringing it up. We may forget to mention that because those types of things don’t change much from bike to bike, a Shimano EP801 and controller with a 630wh battery will look, perform and offer a very similar real world experience across many frames, so perhaps we don’t go into as much detail as we could as it seems like we’ve already covered that topic. But you are correct, some folks may be new, or haven’t seen those other videos and we will work on including that information more regularly! Thanks for sharing.
The extra 600$ for a canyon spectral:ON CF7 is worth it. Carbon frame. 720wh battery and good suspension. If you're in the market for an ebike and want the best value...
