At Nutrano’s mango farm in Katherine, workers from Solomon Islands work hard to get the fruit off the trees. Farm manager, Tim Byllaardtt, explains the benefits of seasonal workers at Nutrano. Addison Hagi, a seasonal worker from Solomon Islands, describes the benefits of the Programme for his family and his country.

Good to hear Solomon Islands are being recognised for their seasonal work in the NT. I went to the Bacon Festival held in Kingaroy in Qld and found there were a good number of Solomon Islanders working there in abattoirs and the coal powered electricity generation. In Innisfail (North Qld) i found many from Vanuatu involved in banana picking. I would hope these Pacific Islanders get money to benefit their families back home, but also learn things that can benefit their villages when they return home.
