Skyler Fire Good morning Skyler, I had mentioned to J.J. The hose load difference between Sat 1 & Sat 3. My question is, why is the Brooklyn Satellite using 3 1/2” hose along with the 5”? Verses the Manhattan Satellite is using all 5”. I’m guessing that they all carry high-expansion foam. The foam generator on 3, do they supply it with just the 5”? Thanks, from a retired engine chauffeur !
Well these are over due for replacement. Engines every 10 years Ladders every 10 years Squads and Rescues every 7 years Battalions every 10 years Special Units Every 15-20 years
Another Beautiful Rig for the FDNY! 👍 I have two questions Skyler. How many New Rigs is the FDNY receiving this year of all types if you know, and second I've heard that the FDNY will be receiving or getting a Bronto Skylift, Is there any truth to that? Just curious, Thanks.
@@OfficerJake4 Thanks for the info.I actually was aware of that but I read somewhere about FDNY getting a Bronto Skylift and I though that would be unusual considering the FDNY has used tower ladders for years.Once again Thanks for the information.👍
In fact, I just remembered that the 1st-generation Satellites were part of the FDNY Super Pumper system of the 1960s-70s. Have a read of John A. Calderone's book on it.
Great show and tell on SAT 3. Love satellite trucks second to my tillers
Thanks for watching

Some serious pumping power there. 👍👍
Doesn’t have a pump. It’s a large manifold
@@SkylerFire
Right o, mate. What you said.
Absolutely beautiful truck! Love how it’s laid out! So, how many Sat trucks does the FDNY have throughout the city?
Thanks 6 Sats and 2 Hose Wagons that did the same thing but are for the Airports and carry more LDH. And about 3 Spares

I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE FOR ONE SECOND WHAT THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE F.D.N.Y. IS? ...JUST FOR ALL THE NEW APPARATUS AND EQUIPMENT ALONE!

Local25 Fire Photography .... 🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒 West Coaster FD , not familiar with FDNY acronyms. What does SAT translation too ? Thank you
Nice new rig!
Thanks!

What's the purpose of the Satellite Engines?
More Progress LDH Hose, Foam Ops etc
Large bore monitor/hose wagon , just like back in the Super Pumper days
Why not just use Seagrave or Ferrera cabs?
Closest thing to they had before which was a Mack cab
Detroit Diesel or Cummins?
Cummins I think
It's a Cummins, but relabed as a "Paccar" engine.
Must be a Peterbilt with the first letter a P in the unit number.
Yes
Why's it called Satellite?
I think satellite means it is an extension of an engine, with its large-diameter hose supply an large deck gun. No pump.
It's two rigs in one like a quint is 4. It's an engine and a foam truck with a metric ton of hose
In fact, I just remembered that the 1st-generation Satellites were part of the FDNY Super Pumper system of the 1960s-70s. Have a read of John A. Calderone's book on it.
No pump

Peterbilt 520 to b exact
