    Today I am sharing my first sort of vlog style recipe tutorial. We were making our super easy pizza for dinner so I thought I’d show you how we do it! This dough can be made the same day you want to use it, or it can be made as a no-knead pizza dough and kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days before using it. Pizza is actually so easy to make at home! I know you can do this!

The scripted ones are great too, but love seeing people just being them doing they're thing. Just got into your videos thanks to sourdough starter sent by my uncle and me trying to understand it all. Lol. Love your vids!

    Making pizza this weekend. You’re adding no sugar whatsoever to the instant yeast? Can I add a couple of teaspoons just for security sake since I’m going to be refrigerating mine for 24 hours? Thanks

    • @BakerBettie
      @BakerBettie  3 роки тому

      Sugar is never necessary. The starches in the flour convert to sugar when hydrated. But if you want to add some you can. Watch for overproofing.

    I don't have a pizza stone but we have a metal, round kinda big rotie cooker. I forgot the actual name of ot but basically you would but it on top of the stove, a bit of oil and put the dough on top to cook. Can I use that?

    • @BakerBettie

      Hi there, in the video I state to heat your oven as hot as it will go. The hotter the better. For me, my oven reaches 550F (290 C) but some ovens do not go that hot and others go even hotter. Go as hot as you can. Then watch it until it is done. Crispy on the bottom and sides. It usually takes about 5-6 minutes in my oven, but it will be different for everyone. Watch it closely.

    What a wonderful video! I watched it straight through. I want a pizza oven so I don't get burned cornmeal all over the place like in my old stove, which I broke trying to get steam into the oven while making baguettes. The hot glass door didn't like the cold water that dripped on it while attempting to produce steam. O well...that was an expensive mistake. I love getting messages from you in my email inbox.

I have been making your pizza dough this week and my son loves it when I make the dough instead of making two pizzas can you use all the dough and make one big pizza. And also can I double are triple the recipe when I make the dough and can it be frozen and how would I do that thanks for all your help you are great

    • @BakerBettie
      @BakerBettie  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Penny! Yes, you can make one big pizza! My pizza stone isn't big enough for that, but if yours is, go for it! Yes you can increase the recipe as much as you want. I like to keep a batch in the fridge and use it later in the week. Let it sit out on the counter about an hour before using. IF you want to freeze it, portion it and freeze it immediately after kneading. Don't let it proof. Then let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight before using it. It will also need to sit out on the counter for at least an hour (probably more) to warm up and proof. Hope that helps!

      It greatly varies depending on how high your oven can heat, how long you heated it,if you have a baking stone or steel, and how often you open the oven. I hear my oven to 550F with a pizza stone for about 45 minutes. I don’t open the door until it looks crispy. It takes me about 5-6 minutes. But it could definitely take much longer
