    A nice sequel to Sam’s recording, truly complements each performer’s skill in such a beautiful and technical piece.

    Man, she is phenomenal. What an amazing performance. Her speed when she does the bar dampening with her hip is insane. My favorite has always been Dr Brad Meyer’s performance here on UA-cam but I think I just found a new favorite.

    i just performed this for my UNT audition a couple weeks ago, and I wish this recording had been available as a guide to help me with my interpretation! great playing, very talented for sure!

    Its like Sam Um’s interpretation is more forward driving like a battle where as Jung’s interpretation is more in a dance style with more groove. I love both for different reasons and i love the style Jung brings to the table!

    This is a good interpretation, but I prefer Sam Um’s from a few years ago, the fast paced and frantic feel of it is how I feel a piece of this style should go. Just my opinion, cuz this is still great!

      @JD she definitely plays this very beautifully! It’s much more dance-like and romantic compared to Sam’s light and driving version, and I really enjoy both. It’s really down to personal preference, I just love that matador-like intensity of Sam’s.

    Nice performance ☺️, the rubberisch sound of the mallets makes it a perfect fit, sweet with a strong surface.

    Piazzolla is something else, and this beautiful performance sounds really nice on Marimba.

      @@zacdaniels8854 I do not, unfortunately. I gotta say, I love how much they can *respectfully* cut without hurting the bars, especially at the low end. To pull that off, she has to have some fire hands behind those mallets. Dang!
      Edit: upon seeing the description of the video, the mallets are listed there.

    Until this moment, I had no idea that people played the xylophone with more than two mallets. #mindblown

    • @InfluxDecline
      @InfluxDecline 11 місяців тому +2

      That isn't a xylophone - xylophones are generally played with only two mallets. This is a marimba. Some people even play it with six or eight mallets!
