I know Natalie had her demons to deal with, but she NEVER surrendered that talent, straight from the Creator! Natalie was the very definition of an artist who could interpret a song...a lyric and make us feel the things we were to inhibited to feel, emotions that we tucked away, and love we were too shy to let go. This song, especially required a sensitivity and simplicity from a pure talent. She bared her soul and let us in...a privilege that fortunately will live on through her recordings. Kudos to you David Foster for not only writing a beautiful, classic song but having the foresight to let one of the world's great talents sing it for us. God bless you Natalie!
What a lovely voice Natalie had, free of all the yodelling embellishment and croaky noises so many singers today like to indulge in. Her singing was pure, straight, and pretty.
I refuse to listen to anyone else sing this but Natalie and David........she is the only one who can bring me to tears on this each and every time I hear it. Simple and not overdone. Splendid.
It's 2023 and almost another New Year is coming and I still love to listen to Natalie's original rendition of this simple but powerfull song.I feel sad for the world because life is becoming harder nowadays, humanity is declining. This Grown-up Christmas Wish will always be our wish, hoping it'll all come to reality.
This song always makes me cry but even more now that our country is in such and peril and division anger boiling over hatred spewing forth from people our country is divided and I'm frightened the lyrics to this song are pertinent right now
Heartfelt!.....Made my cry. so appropriate for the times that we're living in, just look at what we're going through right now. I agree 100% with Bobbie 1957. It's definitely the second best Christmas song of all time. There's no question about, the Christmas song by her father is #1. In my opinion The four most beautiful Christmas songs are: (1) The Christmas song by Nat King Cole. (2) Grown up Christmas list by Natalie Cole. (3) Someday at Christmas by Stevie Wonder. (4) White Christmas by Bing Crosby. Let's hope that someday that all of these wishes on this list will be granted. Maybe it won't be in our lifetime ----But maybe, someday Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!!
Have you heard the song, "Old City Bar" by the Trans Siberian Orchestra? It's not only my favorite Christmas song, it's my favorite song of all time. You should check it out.
Bach here again it's 12/1/2022 and Natalie sings this amazing Christmas song so beautiful she puts me in the Christmas mood every time I hear her voice .love this..
I’m here today listening to this song and I am truly moved.each and every year during the holidays that we all need to hear it and live it. Awesome song.
I can hardly believe that we are approaching the second anniversary of the passing of Natalie Cole. This is my all-time favorite video of any Christmas song, and I have always thought it was the best version. Other great artists have recorded it, but David Foster picked the perfect artist to make it a timeless classic. It is a great shame that it is not near the top of every Christmas song playlist. Rest in peace Ms. Cole. You are loved and missed.
Natalie has certainly done her father the Great Nat King Cole justice. I and my whole family loved his voice. I am so happy to say that she is just as talented as her beloved dad Nat. Merry Xmas to all!
Love this song. Natalie Cole has a beautiful voice, David Foster is a great musician...but I'd have to say that a round of applause should go to Linda Thompson, since the lyrics were hers. If only her grown up Christmas list could become a reality. Happy Holidays to all.
No more lives torn apart, no wars would ever start, and time will heal our hearts, this is my grown-up Christmas list, not for myself but for a world in need. Oh, Syria, help for you now. What can we do?
This song is a modern classic. If only the world was like the lyrics, but human nature does not operate like that sadly. Sadly Natalie's only child and son died this year in his late 30's. Very sad.
My God! Charice live performance tonight was a Enchanting and so beautiful and very touchy! Natalie Morales ( the host anchor of the show) said she is a Star!!! Who could sing like that? What a beautiful powerful and yet so sweet!! Voice!! Yes she is the Star!!! I can't disagree on that with all the performers who did a good performance , Charice's was great! And superb!! I am so thankful that I know her and her family and able to meet David Foster in person. Thanks to all Chasters who went a
X'mas was not a celebration within my family back home, However, since as long as I can remember, come December, this song always leave me feeling all mushed up - now I'm all grown up, those feelings still remains, only this time, the cold, snowy season adds more punch to the already pulpy emotions...beautiful song!
Just realized my two favorite Christmas songs are written/composed by David Foster!!! Natalie Cole has such a smooth, silky voice! My favourite rendition of Christmas List!!! And Michael Buble''s I'll be home for Christmas. Amazing!!!!!!
I'm a big fan of Miss Natalie Cole & I can't even believe that she's gone forever! I'm soooo sad today after I found out that she's passed on yesterday, December 31st,2016. She now joins her Dad Nat King Cole in Heaven....We will miss you so much ,Miss Cole and may you find Eternal Peace, Love and Happiness in Heaven....Amen....
There has never been a singer considered great who did not have behind him or her a great empressario/arranger/producer. Ella has Norman Ganz and countless others have been cultured to perfection by the phenomenally talented David Foster.
Great original version by Sir David and Natalie Cole. David Foster and his wife at the time (1992) wrote this wonderful song. So many great singers have covered this since. Amy Grant in1994 had a hit with it. Michael Buble's also sold very well and Charice just released the lastest version a couple weeks ago. All beautiful to me!
This is one of my favourite christmas songs, ever. I notice that David makes no duett on the ¨River of Love¨album from 1990. Think that is a better choice. Anyway, the man is a genius.

What a lovely voice Natalie had, free of all the yodelling embellishment and croaky noises so many singers today like to indulge in. Her singing was pure, straight, and pretty.

This is the best version of this song with David Foster and Natalie Cole singing together.
Original singer of this song - Natalie Cole. Best version - straight singing no runs and inuendos, just simply elegant voice for Christmas.
Natalie Cole sang this so beautifully. May she RIP.
A lot of people have re-recorded this song but Natalie Cole sings it the best.
Agree 110% One of my go-to Christmas songs, along with John Lennon's War is Over
I think this is the original since she's singing it with the original songwriter, David Foster.
I agree completely, Natalie Cole sings it best
Natalie is the first singer of this song, and I love this simple arrangement, but Monica’s version is my absolute favorite Christmas song.

Brew50, I agree with you 100%.She sings with such soul and meaning, this version simply outclasses all others.
Natalie said that she likes singing Christmas songs because Christmas was the best part of her childhood when her Dad was living.
Outstanding!
Beautiful! I love the harmony and the words. It took my breath away.

My favorite version and the best of them all
By far my favorite Christmas song!!!!🎅🏽🤶🏽🎅🏽🤶🏽❤❤❤❤
Nice, that's some really interesting phrasing. She totally inherited her father's talent. I'm doing this for my Up With People scholarship.
This is the most beautiful and depressing song I have ever heard. The melody makes me hysterical every time I hear it.
My all time favorite Christmas song. RIP Natalie
Amzging. Impressed. Thank you so much for this post! 投稿ありがとうございます!😭
There has never been a singer considered great who did not have behind him or her a great empressario/arranger/producer. Ella has Norman Ganz and countless others have been cultured to perfection by the phenomenally talented David Foster.
Great song from David Foster & Linda Thomson, sung by Natalie Cole.. Love it!!
There have been alot of deaths, bad things, sadness, and evil that have been through this year. This is the theme song for Xmas 2012!!!!
Natalie we miss you and your dad dearly. We know you're both safe.
This is one of my favourite christmas songs, ever. I notice that David makes no duett on the ¨River of Love¨album from 1990. Think that is a better choice. Anyway, the man is a genius.
My fave rendition!
simply beautiful.
The best and original version🥰 RIP Natalie...
Wow. They were so young and cute back then.

January 5th 2:46 in the morning 2017 and I'm already missing Christmas
David Foster is an incredible song writer.. and of course natalie! :)
This one and the Amy Grant version are the best.
Canaan - I though so until i heard the incredible version by Jane Monheit, the famous jazz singer. The arrangement is symphonic in nature.
Barbra Streisand also sang it and its quite amazing!!!
David Foster is a musical God.
Beautiful song...
My favourite christmas song
beautiful, touching music.....
