- Today I'm playing with Soviet Kronshtadt-class battlecruiser added in War Thunder with "Danger Zone" update. Kronshtadt at the moment is Top Tier ship in Soviet navy, and probably the bets ship in whole game, mainly due to those magical 305mm guns and shells. Also HE is broken in Naval battles...

Well some naval action. No idea what's going on with HE lately.Similar to ground battles last video. It's like HE ignores armor sometime? No way in hell that tiny HE could reach battleship armor or even go through the first armor layer. Something is broken.

Yeah. It’s been like that since Danger Zone dropped. They fixed the problem partially, but sometimes it still does it. It seems HE has a chance to ignore armor, or sometimes it passes through water like it’s not even there. This allows the HE to hit the ship well below the waterline where there is no armor, since the ship relies on the water to act as a natural shield. It’s gotten worse though since more people are learning to take advantage of this glitch. Why can’t they just fix this already?

Naval arcade is one of the few arcade modes that still manages to be really fun and still offers decent xp.
me who only play ground and air arcade mainily ground also i dont touch naval
I actually play air only in arcade because realistic air is insufferable
@@wisewizard9552 agreed. Especially when playing with friends. Realistic is the only way to go when grinding XP or silver loins.
Except for the fact planes can reload bombs mid air so 1 good air player can completely ruin everyone's day
i play everything realistic but cant do the naval ships there too slow and boring for my liking,

This feels bittersweet seeing Dollar video but knowing that Drones are going to be in WarThunder. *cries in suffer*

Given the future-wars stuff we had a few Aprils ago, I really was expecting to see drones start showing up in higher tier content.
Drones will kill upper tier ground at a stroke. I rarely play top tier, and I simply won't when the drones show up
The work on the 305mm B-50 guns waa ultimately cancelled during the design phase, so Gaijin had to make up a few stuff. Since only preliminary characteristics were laid out on plans, they had to be creative since only the weight of shells and the targeted muzzle velocity is known. The AP was easy to complement. They just took one that was 471 kg, and it was a variant used for the 305 mm Pattern 1907 guns (PK, IM, etc ), while the HE is the copy-paste researchable long-range HE on PK, with a generous +50 m/s muzzle velocity, since it's lighter than what was otherwise planned for the class. So if anything, the HE is a total Gaijin dream and fabrication.
The HE bug is a known issue, and otherwise being worked on, but no ETA.
Interesting. Still I think would've been better choice to wait a bit and add Kron with intended German 380mm guns. Those were built, tested(even had some action), and all stats know. Less creativity from Gaijin, and more realistic.
Not like Soviets were suffering, and in the need of new ship. Those old dreadnoughts are still very capable

@@DOLLARplays Wait till we get Sovetsky Soyuz. Her ‘SAP’ has 88kg of filler and if it’s magical Soviet A-IX-2 the TNT equivalent will be over 100kg XD
@@kkang2828 it have nothing to be magical, it's basically a stabilized hexogen which is a base for the most of the modern military explosives.

Gotta love the jab at Gaijin for putting what amounted to an incomplete hull into the game before the two largest navies in the Mediterranean get much of anything. I guess they couldn't leave the Soviet line pretty much at the pinnacle of their WW2 designs, as built, which were their WW1 dreadnoughts. I feel bad for France. Still, nothing.
There priorities in the wrong places. Italy , France(not even added yet), even US somehow lacking behind USSR in the top tier.
It is pretty sad that Russia which never had a relevant navy has a very strong tech tree, while France, which had large and modern navy, has nothing. And USA, which had by far the strongest fleet in WW2 gets a bunch of old crappy battleships and an oversized heavycruiser.

Always a pleasure to see your editing creativity and the memes, it's almost enough to forget how broken this game mode is... After spending 4 years making suggestions for the French navy, I'm not even sure I want it in the game right now given the mess that is naval...
Naval EC is pretty nice. Feels more like real baval battle rather than deathmatch.
Well if naval was popular as ground I'm sure we would have French navy by now, but it's not... so we have to wait unfortunately. Some day

Battleships when stock are super vulnerable to fires. Once they get wet ammo it changes everything but until then expect to explode :(
Yeah, but the thing is Destroyer 130mm HE is too weak to reach the ammo
@@DOLLARplays yeah you start a fire and it triggers the explosion. I've had it on most of my stock BB. It's completely stupid

Naval is such a far cry from the suffering of ground RB. Honestly, I never thought I'd say this, but Naval is far better than top tier Ground RB at this point, especially when you don't have drones, you don't have armor meta, you don't have ATGMs, no thermals, only your cannons and your wit. Keep up the good videos Dollar!

Pretty funny how the Russian battleships that were already in the game were still competitive at top tier but Gaijin felt the need to already give them a ship that never progressed past a whopping 10% completion and guns that have completely made up specs when it could have gotten the German guns that actually existed and had known performance. Oh and they're getting a 1970s refit of a cruiser they already have two of.
Meanwhile, Italy is getting a pre-WWI battleship that they really could have used over a year ago. Thanks Gaijin!
Thank god they removed those made up tanks, such as Maus, 105 King Tiger and the Panther II because they were not 100% built.... :)))))

Nice to see someone enjoys the boats, all I got for 300 fricking summer cocktails was a tier V Maxim Gorky which will NEVAR leave the dock as I'd rather face top tier jets in a Peashooter than play naval again, what a broken mess.
Try naval EC. The gameplay is better there
@@DOLLARplays I'll give it a shot but with typically 140+ ping? I've found planes and tanks are easy enough to compensate for but with the ships things get really funky REAL fast with the hit detection and ships not rendering.
