- "I suspect the Tories that are saying 'this is just a bit rude' are either blind to racism or they feel they're safe to do so."
Shelagh Fogarty is joined by Labour MP for Brent Cross Dawn Butler (06:32) to explore top Tory donor Frank Hester's 'racist' comments towards Diane Abbott, Lee Anderson's comments regarding Sadiq Khan and what this means overall for the Conservative Party.

Probably planning a trip to a black community with his photographers
It appears that a lot of white individuals harbor animosity towards Ms. Abbott because of her advocacy for equality, which encompasses the rights of Black people. Unfortunately, this sentiment seems widespread among the white individuals I've encountered. Criticizing Ms. Abbott has become a common occurrence in mainstream discourse. I am grateful to Ms. Abbott for her unwavering support of Black communities who still face injustices reminiscent of past eras, even in modern Britain of 2024. The statement appears to be hate speech, and individuals who identify as Black have the option to file a formal complaint with the Metropolitan Police against the man. He should be charged under the new extremism laws!
P.S. No such thing as "hate speech", only speech that you hate. Also pursuing legal sanctions against someone who exercises their right to free speech is the textbooks definition of fascism and tyranny.

Things have gotten so bad? This is an understatement. Things have always been this bad. I have to laugh at the way the Tories went after anyone saying anything that can be used to point the antisemitic finger and the whole firestorm over comments construed as Islamophobia. Still, all agree that racism and sexism only come to a head when the very things they all think and say in private about black and brown people come into the public domain.
