This is the first Unranked to Challenger I have watched that feels humble and wants to legitimately treat the game as if he was in high elo. It's very useful commentary for low elo players to apply high elo fundamentals to their rank.
Thankfully Pekin had that Brand to help him make all the right calls this game.

U know what would be fun? Play whatever was the last champion someone played against you :P if taken or banned then from previous games but although fun sounds painful and like a different kind of challenge :P
Might work in gold-plat if you have a good understanding of a lot of different champions, even if you don't really play them yourself, but i doubt you can reliably do that and climb after that point.

In order to climb to challenger on that one it’d probably have to be mid role, and in order not to have shit team comp it’d probably need some leeway like any of the last 3 people you played against instead of the direct last one or something of the sort

You underestimate the incompetence of low elo players. That brand is doing what he can to mind control bad teammates into correct plays. It's not every day he gets to play with a competent top laner.

I'm convinced darius pull is bugged. I don't have nearly as many moments on any other champion where I'm just like "no way that missed". But maybe top lane is more prone to high ground/low ground moments? idk
Kayle now runs celerity + movement speed shard (Also Kayle destroys Darius apparently)
Darius is a very not fun champ to play right now tbqh, and as a previous Kayle OTP, I can tell you her early game is often surprisingly strong with the right runes, at the right levels - you can get favorable trades if you're got the knowledge and want to play aggro Kayle for some reason

@@happycamperds9917 I did say previous! My knowledge is totally decayed now, but it should still be somewhat true, fleet was one of the other tools. You take an early, but usually bad, trade, then use the %missing hp damage on your E to stop them from healing while you heal off of fleet (using E while they're high hp is just stupid, as seen in the video). Very annoying, but also puts you at risk of early jg gank, so better to just be a normal person and get your farm 95% of the time.

Fan for a long time here. It's great the idea of top climb to Challenger. The mid games seemed already too easy, so I really like seeing you on a role that's more difficult to you.
The approach you have to take to win the game, like in this one, is something new and therefore more enjoyable to watch.

Great game and commentary. I learned a huge lot about darius. Didn't know he got his ult back at 16...no wonder he is such a monster.
You have to bust out the top teemo. What would a climb be without him? Oh, and of course, Urgot - just love his mechanics and you would probably hit his ult which is so satisfying!
Being challenger is about learning and this is going to show!

Tbh the best yasuo I've ever played against was in gold, I could not take him solo if my life depended on it. How that dude was stuck in gold is beyond me. Dude had perfect 10CS/MIN throughout the whole game and literally insane mechanics.
From my experience, the current gold rank is the point where there is a large mixup between people who are either decent or near perfect at their mechanics on their champ. If you want to get higher though you need to be consistent and some players are too unstable with a feast or famine play-style.
Before emerald was introduced gold would have been the point where almost everyone is approaching near perfect mechanics so macro was the only real difference. I don’t know at what point you faced the Yasuo but gold is definitely a reasonable point to find people with insane mechanics.

This is omega cringe btw. He isn’t fully familiar with toplane wave states because the lane is a different length. That doesn’t mean mid has no wave management 💀😭
@@samwilliams0901 Yeah lol wave management on midlane is completely different than in top. In mid if you get denied minions it's a setback, but in top your whole game is over

Lets go, this is what I have been waiting for!! I just started playing top as a long time mid main. I am struggling quite a bit. I feel like I am in luck elo, where a lot of my games are just lost because my team feeds. I know that over time, you can still climb if you are playing well but I am very eager to learn from your top videos.

Maybe a weird thing to say but it's such a fun watch also because you're being really respectful towards lower elo players sfdd You don't just assume you can stomp through them, and still play with a lot of respect towards their skill, tending to assume the best about how they will play, and it's very refreshing to see after some league ytbers go to lower elos to play and just massively out loud disrespect the other players. Very excited to see more of the top climb series!

Just wanted to say, even though I had some doubts seeing you do a climb where you'd prolly "shit" on low elos, since I'm very against smurfing, but your attitude is actually quite professional, nice and pleasing (as always, and with just a touch of humor at the right times).
Like another comment here said, I think you should never doubt your content, because you got something 99% of other youtubers, especially terminally and chronically uploading league tubers, a good personality. I'd love to watch you even do stuff other than league.

I've been playing Malzahar against things like Urgot, Illaoi, Mundo, etc. It's a bit rough early, but after first back it becomes much easier to win lane or go even. I main Vladimir and use Garen and Malz as my backup picks. I would love to see you put some effort into Vladimir. This is the first season I've actually felt he's been reasonably viable in top lane since s11 came out. I would love to see your macro style on the champ over several games to see if there is anything I can incorporate. If you decide not to, I get it! :p Anyway, off to watch the video. I'm glad you're doing a top lane climb!

Ok so Darius is my main and in one game you've pretty much seen all his shortcomings as a champion and his busted passive AD steroid; also just to add something on your reaction to Apprehend, I fully believe that % passive armour pen is the reason Darius isn't omega trash because it allows him to get his damage in asap since without Ghost and other mov speed items he just gets kited non-stop.
I really wanna see you play Riven, Renekton, Sett, more Camille and of course more of my boi Darius!
Also, just an observation, now you know why that biatccch zwag plays on this elo LMAO you have to literally unlearn how to play the game in high elo because gold and below players are unpredictable af; they rarely ward, barely look at the minimap, don't know what is taking objectives once they get a pick and are insanely bloodthirsty for kills so you can bait them super easy and of course, they fully believe they don't make mistakes and passive aggressively ping you like this Brand especially in Platinum/Emerald.

Kayle usually runs the new rune Absorb Life + Fleet and she has really good sustain because of it, it’s given her a really safe early game so she has an easier time scaling which would explain you getting solo killed early game. I’ve been playing her top and I have 100% wr with 13 games on her she’s very strong due to rune changes. I do enjoy the top lane gameplay keep it up just watching you switch it up is quite entertaining love your videos I watch them to go to sleep and then I go back to watch them during the day😂😂

i never really like youtube league gameplay content but im liking it because of your honesty, openness and willingness to show a game with poor(ish) performance. League community is so toxic, hate that its true what you said at the end about people flaming, but a lot of people that like this game are just insecure bullies that can't be bullies irl so do it online.

The reason Kayle feels so much faster than you might be used to is that Darius is very slow and very kiteable. That's why going ghost on him is almost necessary into a lot of champs.
Also, it's always refreshing seeing high elo players on champs/in situations they're not used to and look like actual bronze players. Makes me feel a lot better about my own gameplay.
That lethality corki would throttle a lot of top lane match ups like Quinn does.
