Hahaha, most of the big festivals actually have crews that do this! On the rail you can almost always ask for water and ranger teams normally go through the crowd with spray bottles and fans.
My fave festival does this for staff and volunteers since they're expected to stand in straight sunlight for up to 12 hours at a time to earn their free tickets. My sibling is desperately envious of that job
I went to the Hozier concert last weekend and got something in my eye sometime between when we got there and when the show started. By the time it was intermission, I was so uncomfortable that I went to the med tent for help. The interaction went as follows: Me: "Hi! I have the dumbest question you're going to hear all night!" 2 out of the 5 paramedics, simultaneously: "The bathrooms are over there" Me: "Oh, that's not what I was going to ask" One of the paramedics: "We don't have ibuprofen" Me: "That's fine, too! I was hoping you have eye drops or eye drops adjacent" Them: "…we have syringes of saline you can use to flush out your eye" Me: *_"Bring it on."_*
I had a friend that had the ‘weirdest’ question. She thought. And why she went to the med tent… fully my fault. I am diabetic and when my sugars drop, I turn into a toddler. Apparently, I decided I was a cheetah at the festival and just bolted. No, I do not remember this, I was told later. My friend asked if anyone had seen or returned “a young woman in a short dress, large fox ears, and a neon sash-belt. Possibly missing a shoe.” Luckily, the med staff had me safely contained and were getting me to drink some juice. They did have to call the number on my MedicAlert bracelet to get the basis of really what they were dealing with. Diabetic since birth, this is the only life I know, and at the time, I hated soda.

I have 100% been the person at a music festival huddled in the shade with my full body tucked up into my hoodie (no blankets allowed) Not even drugs, just overstimulated and panicky
I had that happen to me on the last day of a convention once. Didn't even realize I was on the edge of overstimulation, just sat down for a panel with friends, some dude took a seat next to me and was touching me a little as he got comfortable, and that was it. I had to get up and go find someplace to sit down (alone) before I started crying. Felt bad for him and for my friends cuz the dude initially looked like he thought it was cuz I didn't want to sit next to *him*, and then my friends ended up leaving the con early that day as a result, too. Had to explain the whole thing to both him and them, which made me feel like a drama queen, but I felt like maybe it was a panic attack or something. 😅 Not a good time, lol. Never going to a convention for more than a day ever again.
I was at the sportsball, and there's the handicap seating that they were trying to keep clear from being invaded by the crowds. The bro EMS totally realized that I was okay, but definitely not OKAY, and let me chill for a few minutes out of the crowd. It has really saved my day multiple times.
@@talon8911They're a bit pricey but look into getting a pair of Loops Engage. You can dictate how much noise cancellation you need at the moment to cut down on the auditory sensory input which'll help with preventing getting overwhelmed all the while just looking like you're wearing hearing aids instead of bulky headphones. Also take time to scope out the low traffic/quiet areas of the con venue on the first day while you don't need it so you can make your way there to decompress without having to entirely leave the con unless you're staying at an onsite hotel in which case take full advantage of your room if you feel you need to. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and eat something even if it's just snacks you brought as well because hunger and dehydration can lead to a much lower tolerance of all of the sensory input at a con. Hope this helps and that your next con is far more enjoyable!💙

Over the ten years I spent going to several music festivals every summer, I never once needed medical attention. However I have seen firsthand the kinds of things these guys have to deal with, and they're never short on bizarre encounters. Lots of naked folks who did too much ketamine with their LSD. Which is crazy because I often did heavy doses of both together and never had issues...well, I had some internal freakouts but I had enough sense to know that expressing or acting on those freakouts would make it a hundred times worse. Now that im 32 and not as young and spry as I once was Im not sure if I could do the things I used to do anymore. Be careful out there kids. You only get one brain and one body in this life. Try not to do any irreversible damage. Stay blessed n shit

I don't know you but I'm so happy for you! I use ketamine daily for chronic nerve pain, it has helped enormously. And I tried unsuccessfully to convince someone I loved very much to try ketamine infusions for depression--because I've heard these remarkable stories like yours--to no avail. If my loved one couldn't be happy, then it's nice to know someone else can be.
My favourite people of any big event. If I’m alone I always introduce myself to the medical tent because I’m t1 diabetic. I once even hung out near there out of the way when I was (kind of overwhelmed and anxious tbh) but tired and didn’t want to be alone alone amongst the huge festival and I felt safe there.
Thank you for your service bro that's a rough Job I'm a veteran think I'm a bit too old now but those water bottles are amazing and completely saved my life many times thanks again I couldn't imagine how crazy that has to be on your side

They didn’t call me “MamaKitty” for nothing❤❤❤ The Mama part clocked because even back then-ppl knew I was the one you wanted around whenever there was an emergency…whether I was Candiflipping or not…I just matrix’d my a$$ out of whatever I was into and inherently knew what to do…the kitty part was probably between the ears and always finding me perched up somewhere weird, playing with shit…and chasing laser pointers…but I digress… Some of my old crew are actually founding members of dancesafe lol!!
That being said..idk if I could hang with the new school…outside of keeping them alive and enjoying the music and enjoying watching them have fun…@43, I love the culture…and I’m glad it lives on…I just think if I tried to hang for one night the way I used to I prolly wouldn’t survive. Looking back I’m still confused how I survived at 19-23
I like the t-shirt, the message is true. I wish that everyone with depression would be able to access that life saving treatment from their doctor, and their local hospital.

A hero dose is usually 3-4 times the standard. If you already need a medic after a couple minutes, it's gonna be a very rough and very deep high you are going into. Depending on what it was you took, keep your core body temp down will be the priority. Which means lots of cool water and ice packs.
@@thunderhawkblue interesting, thank you so much! I also didn’t realize “hero dose” was a semi-standard unit of measure, I figured it was just something funny to say in the video.
Yeah, it depends on the substance and application method but 5 minutes is *way* less than it takes for most things to hit max effectiveness. For a relatively benign example: The caffeine in a coffee takes about 15 minutes to have any effect but hits peak strength after about 45. If someone slams several cappuccinos and starts feeling crummy after only 20 minutes they're in for a really bad day.
Remember kids, "You can always take more if it's feeling good, but you can't take less!" Try things out at home with a good group of friends with experience and trusted knowledge of both the substance and the source; getting into something for the first time in a festival environment w/o knowing YOUR reaction is asking for complications nobody wants! I’ve had a lot of medical trauma and seeing stuff like this really helps normalize it and sort of “soften” the blow. Funny AND gently healing. Thanks for your content!
I love how you go around and give people water.
They should make a crew to do that.
The Water Saviors
Hahaha, most of the big festivals actually have crews that do this! On the rail you can almost always ask for water and ranger teams normally go through the crowd with spray bottles and fans.
I had a friend who would walk around cons with a sign that said hydration homie. He would just give out water.
My fave festival does this for staff and volunteers since they're expected to stand in straight sunlight for up to 12 hours at a time to earn their free tickets. My sibling is desperately envious of that job
@@HaydenDoodlescan't afford the lawsuit if one of those rich kids ever died from heat exhaustion 😅

Remember, kids! Tell the police nothing, and EMS everything
“How much did you take?”
“and how much is a heroic dose”
I’m betting that guy has no business doing a heroic dose yet
I went to the Hozier concert last weekend and got something in my eye sometime between when we got there and when the show started. By the time it was intermission, I was so uncomfortable that I went to the med tent for help.
The interaction went as follows:
Me: "Hi! I have the dumbest question you're going to hear all night!"
2 out of the 5 paramedics, simultaneously: "The bathrooms are over there"
Me: "Oh, that's not what I was going to ask"
One of the paramedics: "We don't have ibuprofen"
Me: "That's fine, too! I was hoping you have eye drops or eye drops adjacent"
Them: "…we have syringes of saline you can use to flush out your eye"
Me: *_"Bring it on."_*
@@icarusbinns3156 Oh my goodness😂
I'm not diabetic, but I have a lot of chronic illnesses. Between meds, "bad" days, etc, I understand how _shit gets _*_weird_* lol
Adding the flower to the hat is a classic
It's a pepper
"How much is a hero dose?... okay gotcha" 😂😂😂 got me geekin
I love the vibe, but after more than a month of shifts at festivals and events I really enjoyed my weekend off this week.
I have 100% been the person at a music festival huddled in the shade with my full body tucked up into my hoodie (no blankets allowed)
Not even drugs, just overstimulated and panicky
No blankets
Ah, the good old hoodie tuck. Saved my cold and/or panicky ass more times than I care to admit.
It's the asking of "hero dose" that tells its real
ive heard of heroic dose many times for years but never hero dose

Love the shirt. Did ketamine treatments about a year ago and haven’t had to take anti-depressants anymore. I’m looking forward to live more than I ever have. Ketamine really does help.
This was so funny 😂❤
Thank you for all the work you do for the community
Oh damn i caught this video early, i usually get the ones from months ago thats sick 🤙
The shaking the bottle of water at the person in the blanket like cat treats to a cat is so real like i ain’t drinking water but if someone shook it infront of me sure thing I’ll take it
The sneaky hat pepper got me good
Im glad people realize its a pepper. Its my current favorite sprout
@@WhatsGood24-7do you respond to my comment?
This 😂😂😂 idk why but it made me genuinely happy
Yep.... As festival security and medical staff at times.. I can relate with the water bottle shake.
90% of my calls are dehydration related.
you all are the unsung heroes of the festivals. massive respect for helping us out when we were feeling a little too good
Over the ten years I spent going to several music festivals every summer, I never once needed medical attention.
I am convinced that I got through by nothing short of the grace of God. Like seriously, that’s the only explanation. ❤
I heard “hero dose” and I instantly felt bad for the amateur.
Bless you for distributing water 🙌😁🙌
I have survived 2 bouts of sepsis from staff infections. When you said “stick n poke” my hair stood on end😵💫😵
Dude bless your heart!!!!! That’s TERRIFYING!!! I’m so glad you’re okay!! Used to IV drugs and this was a serious fear me and my fiancé had. You hear about people pulling water up in syringes from like puddles in the freakin road! I had the same reaction when I heard him say that!
that type of art is not supposed to break skin :( you do not need to shit on things that remind you of trauma...
This is why i love medics or any healthcare provider, they're there to literally help you with no hidden motives.
I went to edc a few years ago and those johns were SHITTED the fuq off
Can you tell me what that means? I'm so new to all of this new language. 😔☺️

My man you are the hero dose to many out there! Appreciate you and all others like you!
Looks at the toilet:
I'll have UTI instead, thanks.
I've thought that very thing!
The stethoscope thing is so real. Hell its hard to even feel a pulse if your close to the speakers.
There was a guy who collapsed right next to me at electric forest, took me a second to realize he didn't have a pulse and what i was feeling was the bass
Ok but that water bottle scene was honestly cute ❤
Why are almost 9/10 EMT's so FREAKING PERFECT GORGEOUS 😍!!
DANG I’m early,

immense respect for festival EMT's. I've had bad trips and seen people start to OD, the EMT's are always incredible.
These guys are heros at the festival's and most of them get it.
Some just need some water and a check, some need to be rushed to the ER. No matter what, theyre chill
God this is too real. I remember stay safe and the EMTs doing their best to help as many people as possible.
The silently giving water. ❤
Haha bro. I love it. Go in with a calm mind and know you are there to be a “baby sitter” if you will. That’s awesome kinda a different way to see a festival. Appreciate the hard work!!! 💚🤙
Passing out water and not hearing enough to do a BP so you go to Palp 😂
ketamine did save my life!!! I love you shirt so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
People like you are heroes.
Funny shirt love ur short stories there all so true .keep on being so chill in a hectic life
He such a studd...he definitely can save us any day
thank you for being willing to be open about the possibility for ketamine in medicine! ketamine therapy gave me my life back and i learned i CAN feel happiness 💛
Shit you probably have endless laughs of all of these punks but shit probably gets real serious & difficult at times I respect you brother
Its the phone on a tether for me lmao the way he just drops it is such a mood
Thank you!! I'm living for these!
The phone tether so it doesnt get lost or more likely stolen is so real and smart
Coming back from Dancefestopia, this UA-cam short was perfectly timed
Thank you for your service bro that's a rough Job I'm a veteran think I'm a bit too old now but those water bottles are amazing and completely saved my life many times thanks again I couldn't imagine how crazy that has to be on your side
aww the lil clip on flower is so cute
This makes me want to be an EMT just to do festivals. The stories you’d get from these events would be wild. Plus it just seems like a vibe trying to help people and keeping the festival safe and fun
We use to just throw water bottles to people as well, had a shirt that said "Free water, I know you're dehydrated."
Dude…how did you land the festival gigs?!?!
You’re basically living my dream gig!!!
(Besides, back in the late 90’s early 00’s, my “raver saver backpack” was pretty much a layman’s bug out (hack job first responder) bag😂😂😂
I had everything from water, smokes, extra lighters and toys, to inhalers, sugar packets and ipecac in there (IYKYK). They didn’t call me “MamaKitty” for nothing❤❤❤ The Mama part clocked because even back then-ppl knew I was the one you wanted around whenever there was an emergency…whether I was Candiflipping or not…I just matrix’d my a$$ out of whatever I was into and inherently knew what to do…the kitty part was probably between the ears and always finding me perched up somewhere weird, playing with shit…and chasing laser pointers…but I digress…
Some of my old crew are actually founding members of dancesafe lol!!
That being said..idk if I could hang with the new school…outside of keeping them alive and enjoying the music and enjoying watching them have fun…@43, I love the culture…and I’m glad it lives on…I just think if I tried to hang for one night the way I used to I prolly wouldn’t survive. Looking back I’m still confused how I survived at 19-23
Ipecac. Old school!
I like the t-shirt, the message is true. I wish that everyone with depression would be able to access that life saving treatment from their doctor, and their local hospital.
I remember when Special K was a party drug
This guys is amazing bruhhhh we need more ppl like him
LOVE THE SHIRT. it’s helped me so much with my mental health (under medical guidance and supervision!)
thank you to the EMTs at the Bristol Renn Faire who saved my pub-crawled ass from further poisoning. to the woman whose shoes i almost threw up on, i'm very sorry. it was the blueberry mead.
Love how his phone is just dangling so he can just drop it
Love the hat flower!
My brother loves going to music festivals. He lives outside of Austin. He says he loves working music festivals. As a supervisor and the fact most EMT paramedics hate working music festivals, he's always the first to volunteer. It's like he gets to do what he loves and gets paid for it.
I just love realizing you're just having a fun day at the park doing this. Idk why 😂
Sprout sneak attack
Thank you to all the Festival EMTs out there. You are genuine heroes
Is it worse if it was taken so recently? I’m confused why he sounded alarmed at “5 minutes.”
A hero dose is usually 3-4 times the standard. If you already need a medic after a couple minutes, it's gonna be a very rough and very deep high you are going into. Depending on what it was you took, keep your core body temp down will be the priority. Which means lots of cool water and ice packs.
@@thunderhawkblueI was also curious about this, thanks!
THE PHANROM HAND CLIPPING ON A LITTLE TWIG, THAT WAS SO CUTE
Me a festival rigging technician: "lmao that guy thinks he can just mark portos with tape? YOU WILL WITNESS MY SHITART MORTAL."
Being a Festival EMT is such a greatfull work. Love it surly do it again. Even when its so hard to not vibe(to much).
PLUR 💜
Encouragement for drug use crazy, hope karma settles scores with you
