Consider a 55-gallon food-grade barrel and an ecoplus submersible pump. You mix the drum to precisely what you want and activate the pump with a switch which will then go to the watering wand or drip irrigation. I water two large gardens (160 containers on one and 16 raised vegega beds in the other) with an 1100 pump and a timer mixing the fertilizer to double or triple strength and let it go 3x/week. Large operation, super cheap, and very reliable for many years now. To extend the mixing times, add more barrels, same pump. I have 3.

Where did you get the pump? I’d like to hear more about this.

I just purchased some 'Southern AG' 'Essential Minor Elements' for my raised beds. I had been researching about using Boron for my osteoarthritis using supplements (they actually help the arthritis) and discovered that minor elements like boron get diminished from soils.

Wish I knew about this device before I spent over a hundred bucks on the one I use currently. It does a good job, though. The fact that this is only 25.82 is awesome!

I see you've found a good use for the bulldogs cup. I'm from Alabama, so I wouldn't drink from it either. 😂. My previous wife put an Auburn cup in a sink of dishes I was washing once, and I drained the water. When she asked why I told her she'd contaminated it. Anyways --great video and ROLL TIDE. Hope you know it's all in fun sir.

I used the dig one this year. It struggled at first on my drip system, but it needs a minimum flow rate to work properly.
When i expanded the number of total dripers on one single zone it worked great. Cant remember the specific number and cant seem to find my manual either.
Some combinations i used with it, water soluble innoculants microrhizae and lacto for soil in new beds this year, kelp + molasses together, and agrothrive and the plants loved it.

That would probably work great if you made some worm casting extract and wanted to apply it in your drip system directly to your plants.

I saw this on Drip Depot too and was interested. Glad to know it’s working. I decided against it because my hose bibs are angled and this has to be installed level as I recall.

Yes it does have to be installed level. Not necessarily ideal for most outside wall spigots which are almost always angled.

Thanks! I have been looking for an alterative injector to the others. This looks like the ticket.

Travis, I’m gonna give this a try mostly because I use the easy flow starting years ago when I learned it from you when you were with Hoss so I trust your judgment on this. My question is I don’t see a backflow preventer on your system. Wouldn’t need a backflow valve.
I’m actually gonna try it in my thousand square-foot garden with my drip tape

From what I remember reading, this one has a backflow valve built into it.

If you put a pressure reducer off the faucet which is then attached to a timer, would it avoid blowing the injector off the blue connecter when the timer released the water?

    • @LazyDogFarm

Yes, just don't pull on the hose too much or you might pull it off the connector.

Discovered a nematode issue in a raised bed. I wish I would have known over the summer, as I could have solarized. Not sure what I can do over the winter to kill these off in my area.

Plant that spicy mustard and turn it into the soil

    • @mutantryeff
      @mutantryeff 4 дні тому

@@Maria-ql3fc The problem I have is that I grow pubescens peppers that are currently two years old and they don't start producing until the third year. I can't really turn the soil over or have competition for the peppers. Even solarizing isn't a real option for most of the raised bed. 2/3rds of the bed has long-term peppers in production. Most are 2 or 3 years old at the moment. The 1/3rd area that is left has eggplants or nothing. I'm going to experiment if I can keep the eggplants alive over the winter as they can be treated as perennials

Hey Travis, will that gizmo work hooked directly to a faucet without any other hardware? It would be nice to water and fertilize my raised beds at the same time. I'm old and on a fixed income so I can't afford elaborate setups.

    • @LazyDogFarm

Did some on line checking for reviews on these things... Home Depot stocks them at a very competitive price, but the reviews are horrible! Literally everyone had the same issue that you do Travis, the fittings fail/pop off, and they break regularly... I decided against purchasing them. I wish you guys luck!
