It makes the seat look SO much better when it matches the look and feel of the rest of the upholstery. And the idea of using this car seat as an office chair is superb! Will you have videos showing how you will mount this chair to a pedestal or base, when the upholstery work is complete? I am always waiting patiently for the next video in this series. We are all rewarded with so many little details and tips in each. Thank you!

In the summer with a temperature of forty degrees and above wont they come off?Seems unlikely to me! In Greece we don't dare to do that because as soon as the summer comes and the car is left in the sun goodbye leather!

Leather is not always the best.. or is it?! A friend asked me to rebuild seats in his 25yr old 4x4 nissan, and I will tell you there is not much left on those metal frames. What would you recommend in such case? It has to be really durable, washable and relatively gripy, so the passengers don't slide off their chairs.
I think the best would be a synthetic material/faux leather. A grain pattern for the main panels to avoid slippery. A plain material for the sides and other parts. Most of them are very durable and washable. Another option would be fabric for center panels seat and backrest. There are waterproof fabrics used in car upholstery. Alcantara material is washable and would be another option. The driver gets 100% gripped to the seat with this synthetic material. No slippery, not at all.
I have used sharpened waxed pencils useful to mark on vinyls or leather. www.amazon.com/Berol-Peel-Off-China-Marker/dp/B00006IFGG I also used a silver leather marking pen. www.amazon.com/Holsten-Leather-Silver-Marking-Pens/dp/B0859G9Y62 There is a liquid shoemakers use here in Mexico to clean off certain pen marks, goo, glue, etc. on leather or vinyl. It is called 'washer'(lavador). By the odor I deducted it is benzine. The 'gasolina blanca'/mineral spirits also works out well! What was that thing you did to the edges of the leather?
I reduced the thickness on the edges by using a leather skiving machine.
