And this is what kicked open the doors for all the awesome metal and rock Ladies of Japan to make their way to the West. Just seeing the look on Su's face at 4:04, she knew shes got the crowd in her hands... and the triumphant sass they got when they walked off the stage... i feel sorry for the band that was coming up next. 😂😂🤘🦊🤘
Absolutely, the audio might be bad, but it's seeing the crowd singing along with the girls is what gets me... "Let us hear your voice".... Goosebumps. 🤘🦊🤘
Poor Yui! It's like she always has some sort of mishap on stage. In this, her dress is coming apart, and during a concert at Budokan in March 2014, she has a bootstrap come undone and, like a real pro, she managed to get it somewhat secured DURING the Black BABYMETAL performance of "Song 4 No Uta" (that performance is on the list). And it was the previous night at the same venue, Yui fell off the stage during the performance of "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!". Personally, I can't help but wonder if this accident is what may have led to her leaving the group four years later. Curiously enough, this concert at Sonisphere took place four months later and she seems to be in the pink (but hasn't shaken that stage luck). Also, it was this concert that essentially introduced BABYMETAL to the western world which is why most of the One deem this a landmark occasion for BABYMETAL. KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
It is unknown what it is called outside of Japan, but in Japan it is called the ソニスフィアの奇跡(Miracle of Sonisphere). At BM's first overseas festival, in front of 60,000 people seeing BM for the first time, only a few hundred people in the front row were cheering during the first song, but by the fifth song it was like this. I am sure many people will comment on what happened at this festival!😌 On the festival connection, how about the next download festival 2016 karate? but it would be better to see the karate of the OFFICIAL music video first. Note that BM is called a metal dance unit, and many parts of the dance are tailored to the lyrics. From Japan🦊
👍 👍 Very glad that you got a chance to react to this wonderful performance. Of course Sonisphere 2014 in the UK is where BabyMetal became known to the world outside of Asia and from this point on nothing could stop them. Until next time.
Thanks for coming back with this suggestion, after the live at Budokan 2014 you saw they announced this upcoming World Tour, but fans pushed for BM to be part of this big festival and they made it in front of 60k metalheads, i let someone else tell you everything about this but in summary it was a turning point in their careers and they feel UK like their second home. Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Great reaction. Thanks for coming back to this performance - there is no right or wrong version for BABYMETAL performances (apart from the BBC messing the audio up at Glastonbury in 2019), but this one was very special. It doesn't look like anybody has given all the details yet so I'll do what I can. This was their first tour outside of Asia - they played a couple of small venues in Paris and Cologne in the week or so before going to the UK to play Sonisphere (and another show in London a couple of days later which sold out so fast they moved that to a bigger venue). They were originally booked to play a small side stage or tent, but the video for 'Gimme Chocolate' went viral and BABYMETAL was being noticed. So with just a couple of months notice they were moved to the main stage. Some gatekeepers who thought BABYMETAL were a gimmick or joke band were not happy and made threats on social media that they would be armed with bottles to throw and would be booing them off stage. Su-metal was 16, Yuimetal and Moametal had celebrated their 15th birthdays at the Paris and Cologne shows (Moa's birthday was actually the day before Sonisphere). From back stage they could not see the crowd and worried what they should do if nobody had come to see them - they were very surprised to see 50-60,000 people waiting as they walked on stage. Only a few hundred of those people were fans and had any idea who they were (they had managed to get to the front - anybody throwing anything at the stage would need a good arm ... fortunately that didn't happen), the rest were very puzzled to see 3 tiny Japanese girls in red tutus. Su-metal has said that they saw a sea of puzzled looking faces and thought to herself "This will be fun. Let's knock it out of the park!" She also said how, as they played their set those few hundred at the front who were jumping up and down and singing along were joined bit by bit by the rest of the crowd and that it looked like a wave moving out from the stage towards the back of the crowd. They played 5 songs - about 25 minutes - and when they walked off stage the crowd were shouting for "One more song" and "We want more". This was the moment the girls felt they were accepted by the metal world and they realised their music could break through language and other barriers. The reason people wanted you to watch this particular performance was because it really was a huge turning point and land mark in their history. They had the biggest mosh pits of the weekend - their merch also outsold all the other bands playing that weekend (including big names like Anthrax, Metallica, Iron maiden and more).
@@grandparentsreact You're welcome - and I just thought you would want to know the reasons why people wanted you to see this particular performance and why it was so significant.
The British music press was blown away by this performance. They did not know how to deal with 3 unbelievably talented and cute teenage girls. The interviews post' festival are are fun, The interviewers were literally scared of them!! This is their international breakout and they became first Japanese band in many years to successfully secede internationally. Since this festival in 2014 they have regularly toured the US and Europe. Selling out the LA Forum in 2019 with their full arena show.
Great & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The phrase "Dame Zettai (= No absolutely)" is originated from police campaign against illegal drugs which had started in 1960s. So this song implies that "Ijime (= bullying)" is considered as harmful and addictive as illegal drugs. We have to continue our efforts at home and in school (and in any society or organization or group in the world) to eliminate it. In 2020, BABYMETAL revived IDZ and have continued to perform this song in all of their arena shows. It was probably their message to the current world.
Great reaction as always, thanks! As I mentioned there is not a wrong version, and the one from the Budokan 2014 is better because of the stage production. This one, on the other hand, is better because we can explain the backstory, the way they won over the always hostile metal-festival-kind UK crowd. And it was impressive, the vast majority of those people had no idea what BABYMETAL was. And that kind of crowd is very well known for booing bands that don't match their expectations (and throwing very disgusting items to the stage). The girls themselves commented later that this was a very important moment for them. Probably the moment they were legitimate as an actual metal band. Some like to call this the "Sonisphere miracle" but it isn't. What they achieved there Is all based on skills and hard work... and then, more hard work, by all the people involved in the project: the girls, the band, the songwriters and all their staff. Until next time! 🤘🦊
Such an amazing concert to see in full. Watching the crowd and the Kami band/BM feed off the building energy and then bringing the house down with this is incredible
This concert featured Babymetal on a smaller side stage but because of some mess up they were moved to the main stage. Hooray for the mess up😉😀. Also another reactor said who would be able to follow this...huh?? ❤Babymetal.
Sonisphere 2014 was one of the most pivotal moments of Babymetal's career, as it was their first tour outside Asia and their first western metal festival; among Babymetal fans, it is known as "The Miracle at Sonisphere". Going in, they were pretty unknown and due to scheduling issues, they were moved from a smaller stage where they were originally planned to play up to the main stage where they would perform for 60,000 metalheads. UK festival crowds are pretty notorious for being hostile to bands they don't like so there must have been some trepidation about them going on the main stage, but in subsequent interviews, the girls have said that they were excited by the challenge of winning over a skeptical crowd, which is something they have become adept at over the years. At the start of the set, the crowd was a bit confused since most of them had no idea who Babymetal were, but by the end of their 30 minute set the crowd was chanting "We want more!" and they sold more merch than any other band that weekend. It was a breakout moment in their career, and to this day Babymetal considers the UK their second home due to the strong support they have always received from UK fans.

First of all, I think you need to find out what kind of artist it is, but if you post a link, AI may delete the entire comment, so I will write the song name. Sorry to trouble you, but it will be in the form of copying and searching. Challenge yourself. One was at the age of 52 when he sang "Stay Gold" at the 30th anniversary live in 2014. The second time was when I was 57 years old when I sang "Mangata" at the 35th anniversary live in 2019. You can find it as soon as you search by song title and Mari Hamada. Please try the challenge.

What is impressive is that 95% of the audience had no idea who BabyMetal was, and they fell in love with the girls extremely fast.
