Which offensive line would you rather have, Eagles or Lions?

Eagles, if not with starters, Birds always have backups ready too. Their backups will start in almost 20 other teams

The one with Jeff Stoutland as the position coach.

Saquon Barkley + our O line = a match made in heaven

Jordan Mailata was a great 7th round pick. He was a "project" everyone thought might make the practice squad but he did so great as a pre-season rookie, they gave him a roster spot.

Don't forget Eagles drafted Andre Dillard in the first round the next year. He out competed a first round tackle for his position from day one.

Mailata's weight is wrong; he's 380, not 365. Three years ago, he returned to his home in Australia, and his weight went to 400 lbs. He feels better at 380 than 365 because he said he feels weak at 365.

that would mean that becton is 410 pounds or so since becton is same height but looks bigger when lined up next to each other

Jordan "Mt" Mailata is reason the Tush Push is nigh unstoppable. When he plays, the tush push goes from 80% to 98% guaranteed.

He's awesome but he's not the best offensive lineman. He's not even the best on his team. He's number 2 on his team.

    • @Styrixa
      @Styrixa 2 години тому +1

@@methylphosphatePOET He's only number 2 on his team because Lane Johnson is probably number 1 in the league.

As an Eagles fan I was drawn to rooting for Mailata from the very start because of his story. A lot of people like to point to the fact that he was a 7th round pick and talk about what a great value that is now that he's developed into one of the best OT's in the league. While that's true, I think it's also important to note that he was essentially a red shirt for his first two full seasons. So for an investment perspective, it's not as simple as his draft position. The Eagles took an incredibly long view with him by letting him take up a valuable roster spot for that long while believing that it would pay off eventually.
I like that my team is capable of executing that kind of long term plan.

Jeff Stoutland has been one of if the longest tenured coach in Philadelphia and he trains athletes to become the smartest position group in football. The Eagles O-Line is greater than the sum of its parts all these players are really talented and even more assignment sound.

I hope you guys know that the Eagles have another New Zealand / Australian Rugby player who’s 6’5” 320 pounds at 21 years old and is being mentored by Jordan. His name is Laekin Vakalahi.

only thing mailata struggles with is dealing with the best speed rushers on the edge. he's so damn tall so he has trouble blocking low as the rusher bends the corner

  • @brianmurphy9039

Mailata is awesome. when I watch him I know the only thing he struggles with now is a pass rusher with speed that can transition in to power in to speed. that guy that is fast enough to threaten him outside where he has to over set. The the inside counter-move be it power that Jordan can handle , usually . he has gotten much better at this year. but the outside speed to fake to power to inside speed has given him trouble. Last year it did anyway. This year , not so much. Stoutland just keeps coaching him up and he just keeps getting better and better at countering the counters..
If Howie didn't have him , already, locked up through his age 31 season in 2028 I'd would think he really should have been coming off a contract year next year for 28+mil/yr. yet he is locked up for an insane 18-19mil/yr. cause the Eagles recognized early how good he could be and locked him down, super extra early .

I doubt very much if Jordan did wrestling before he joined the NFL. Wrestling is pretty much unheard of in Australia as a sport.

Actually in rugby league they are taught a wrestling tackle technique

I was talking about wrestling as in the actual sport played in US schools and colleges

I’m sorry but how are you involved in all this football stuff and say it’s a funky unorthodox way to split a double team when it’s literally the way you’re taught to do it

We've had years where Jalen's carried the whole team, especially when we got to the SB. Our defense lost that game for us. Jalen outplayed Mahomes during the SB, but our defense couldn't stop Mahomes. Just saying.
