The concept of backing 'one of your own' regardless of whether or not they have integrity stinks. I refuse to back 'one of my own' if their words & deeds are not RIGHT. There are no shaded areas between what is RIGHT & what is WRONG. I, as an individual, have to live with my conscience, & I have a moral obligation to myself & all of my Brothers & Sisters to act & say what is RIGHT. I do so because, in the end, all of us will stand before The One & Only, & hear HIS judgment of our lives. I answer, only to HIM. And when you do harm to any of HIS children, & you do harm to HIM. My Brothers & Sisters would be wise to realize that fact, all of us WILL answer to HIM for our words & deeds. You can run, but you can't hide, from HIM.

I lived in India for many years. The worst story about the Indians - and the Pakistanis - is their total, utter racism against black people. In Hindi the word black, kala, is being used as a curse...watch the movie mississippi masala to see the subtext, that is never discussed openly...
There are several reasons why Indian Americans lean conservative. Many are business owners who were really hurt by the Covid Lockdown and want to take it out on the Dems. Others are very well positioned as Upper middle class and don't feel kinship with the Democratic party's redistribution agenda. Some are religious and don't like the Liberal drive to redefine everything from Marriage to what it means to be a man/woman. And some are actually driven by hindutva sympathies who care more about the US' support for Modi and his party. It's a VERY diverse group.

The level of dissociation from reality and willingness to see others as "less than" is astounding. It's like they're cosplaying at being "white" and surrounded by white privilege, when they're obviously to everyone else, not. Note that they themselves bring up rhe "model minority" bs, thus starting off the discussion with a division, something negative. Then, they are ignorant of Nikki Haley's own words though they claim to support her. And, why don't they question why Ms. Haley doesn't use her given, Indian names? It's just mind boggling how dumb people can be.
That's because you don't understand Indian racism. It's not about skin colour but culture. The Indian racist believes in the superiority of his culture/civilization. They may have a preference for lighter skin but that applies solely within the Indian community. I.e. The Indian mother looking for a light skinned bride for his son is not interested in having a white girl as her daughter in law. Regarding white people, Indians dont think that they are white, rather they see themselves as being superior. They hide it well but this attitude will only get more overt as time go by and that due to both the success of Indian Americans and the rise of a more nationalistic India under Modi.

@sadoka. Yes, I think it should only be Chinese and Americans who get to feel pride. Nope. No other groups. That's why I elaborated on so many other groups so I could highlight Chinese. I never said Americans, but yes they should feel all of the pride. Only them.
I dislike the idea of voting for someone based on their gender or ethnicity. I am not opposed to a woman who is the daughter of immigrants from India being the President. I just don't think people should vote for someone just because we haven't "had on of those yet". A candidate should get votes based on their experience and views, not their gender or where their patents are from.
Right, cuz men or white people have never done that😐. I think most people see gender or race as one of a number of reasons to vote for someone. Usually any man or woman, if whatever ethnic background have to meet the basic requirements for candidate eligibility. Then, voters may or may not vote for them based on their gender/race...js🤷🏾♀️

As someone who grew up in the U.S., not "white" and who has had opportunities to be surrounded by Indians and Indian-Americans for decades now (at school, uni, work, etc.): it was a rude awakening to me that a people mostly darker than me could be so myopic and so openly racist, even when they are native born and well-educated and thus should know better.
Many Asians, not just Indian Americans, proudly claim to be part of the model minority and willfully turn a blind eye to the rampant racism around.

What most non-Indians don't understand is the entire panel is made up of North Indians including 'Kal Penn'. The divide between North and South Indians is not well known outside of India. They all will be in support of the corrupt, clerk (worked in her father's shop and later became a politician by playing both sides), military contractor Namrata 'Nikki' Haley (North Indian origin) who used her position to become a multi-millionaire from being broke and 1 million in debt after she left the Trump administration. Now the establishment has this 'Nikki' puppet who they can 'control over the course of her political career. The Republican base has no interest in Namrata 'Nikki' Haley who is being pushed hard by the establishment with fake polls, just like they did for Hillary Clinton. On the other hand, Vivek Ramaswamy is of South Indian origin, intelligent, highly educated (Harvard and Yale grad), self-made billionaire/outsider who is unafraid to speak the truth and cannot be 'controlled' (just like Trump) by the establishment or mega donors. Kamala Harris is also of South Indian origin (her mother) but she is purposefully playing dumb and happy to live as another puppet of the establishment. @@considerallthat3310why exactly
I thought this was going to be far more nuanced and insightful, it ended up being really sad. The criteria they have for making a sound choice is bonkers.
Its the power of media. To make you believe a fake representation of a large, diverse community carefully chosen to paint whatever narratives they want to push. The moment you realize that basic fact, you start getting intelligent about everything around you.
Oh no. Some people don't vote the same candidate as you. How sad
It's an edited program with a contrived "mediator" injecting obvious bias at every turn in the name of "humor", on a comedy channel. You might have a better chance at figuring out what people actually think by talking to them and asking them why they think what they think. But before you put yourself out there, you should ask yourself the same question. Most people can provide their opinions, while at the same time are completely incapable of explaining why they hold those opinions. Can you pass the test?
Anyone who wants to be a dictator, will not give that power back. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I had no idea that Nikki Haley was Indian-American. She seemed as white as wonderbread to me.
She tries very hard to appear that way as she also claims their is not racism in America. It is because she is well aware of it but does not care as long as she does not have to deal with it. So in her mind, it is completely fine.
Technically she's not, but she is.😮

This is hugely important. Study the credibility of news outlets. (See: "The Media Bias Chart" and other news fact checkers.) Make a practice of checking controversial news stories using more than one outlet, preferably from different countries. Treat highly biased outlets as entertainment, even if they're accurate and you agree with them. Don't pass along news stories until you have double checked their authenticity and accuracy.
