I'm surprised no one talked to you about Very Nice, it's pretty much their representative song. It plays at every show/event they attend. I'd be surprised if the boys themselves weren't sick of it.

THANKS was literally the song that get me so emotional because imagine making the title track dedicated just to the carats? Who's doing it like SVT? The meaning behind it, and even without the lyric you could feel the emotions that they are trying to convey to carats. You should check out Thanks dance practice as there is alot of details which pull the strings to our heart like they made these pinky promise gesture referencing to their promise to Carats to be with us forever. They even used korean sign language in their chorus part where they sing Thanks, Thanks.
and the fact that they perform it very first at the fanmeeting so carats can witness it first makes it more special

aju nice is the quintessential seventeen song. even though don't wanna cry is their most well known song overall, aju nice is like THE seventeen song. it's part of the era of "freshteen", the fresh and upbeat sound of which set them apart from other boy groups at the beginning of their career. aju nice is played all the time of Korean variety shows as bgm as well as at baseball games. whenever seventeen are asked what song they recommend to people getting to know them, or what one song people should listen to to understand "seventeen", they say aju nice
Y'know Seventeen mentions all the time how thankful they're for Carats existence, the song Thanks is a beautiful love letter for the fans. I love message... When no words can express how big the feeling is sometimes only a "simple" ~Thanks~ is enough to convey their (and ours- the fans as well) gratitude :')
I cannot express how much 'Thanks' means to me. Both the song and the video shows the whole process the group goes through when creating music. In the video, everyone is divided into their respective groups, Hip hop team writing the lyrics, Performance team choreography etc. But in the end, all of them come as one team delivering the final product that we see. Also, towards the end part, we can see how the camera splits into three, first showing Hoshi dancing (an individual, also, I'd like to believe he was the one shown because of him being the creative mind behind some choreos), then we get a Hip hop team shot of them dancing and finally, the whole group. It starts with one person and it ends with everyone dancing as one. Perhaps a little throwback to the 13 members+ 3 teams + 1 group: Seventeen?
Also, as a little info on the album that came with Thanks, Director's cut', this is my favourite album from Seventeen. It was a repackaged album that included the last one, Teen;Age (and thus Clap, Pinwheel, Change Up etc). The album that signified a change in their discography. Director's cut included then, a total of 17 songs. Yes, 17 friking SONGS, 14 from the previous album and Thanks+ Run to you (a song with anime vibes) +Thinkin' about you. Also, as a side note, the album's photobook felt completely different, very self-produced, with more natural-looking pictures? I don't know how to describe them but it was more personal. Each member was posing with something that they liked or one of their hobbies. I believe Mingyu had a videocamera, Joshua his guitar, Hoshi his choreography notebook etc.
And regarding Thanks, I cannot stress enough the beauty of this song, the emotion put into it, the way it conveys a feeling of thankfulness to us from them. The choreo feels so beautiful, they even incorporated sign language to say 'Thank you', the way they danced on their knees was so beautiful...
I think 'Thanks' is a very underserved gift from Seventeen to us because everytime I listen to this song I'm the one who thanks them for their music and what they are.
YES I totally agree, this is def my favorite song and I hold it very close to my heart + it makes me so emotional whenever I really listen to it
one thing i like about them is despite having 13 members, they’re able to give fair line distributions among the members!
also aju nice is played endless times at the end of concerts (imagine 10 minutes of endless aju nice). carats and everyone in the venue are hyped up. might be tiring but fun and makes a very good note to end the night with seventeen!
Not only that.. even their fan base for each member are balance from what I can tell. Some group, there’ll be that one member that get little to no attention from fans.
I love all 13! Some a little more than other and then there’s DK that cannot be touch! But each member have their moment with me 😅

I'm surprised you haven't heard about Very Nice a lot, but I'm so happy you chose to react to it! I think it's one of, if not THE, first song that catapulted them to success and secured them a spot as an iconic 3rd gen group. But it makes sense because while it's a great comeback, they've continued to break that high standard again and again.
Thanks is a very special song for the fandom, very emotional too. (Also it was while watching the Mnet stage of Thanks that made me realize how I couldn't live any more minute of my life without being a Carat 😊✨💎)

The Home Run music video is a combo of famous heist movies like The Maltese Falcon, The Sting, even Pink Panther ( the baseball with the diamond inside)..Speaking of the diamond, as the fans are Carats, SEVENTEEN is literally stealing our hearts from each other throughout the video. And the choice of swing as a music genre fits with the idea in that most heist movies are set in the 40s and also to hit a baseball to get a homerun you have to swing. 😉😉
Oh, and show of hands 🤚🤚 Who yelled out a warning that Woozi had a bat when they first say the mv?!
Fun fact: someone told me that the diamond in home:run was a seventeen-carat diamond, and it blew my mind at the thought and detail they included into the video
in the very nice mv, the reason why the boys heart are exploding it's like their representative feelings...when their heart explode it's mean they're falling in love with the girl so it was right that you said the boys were fighting over her
I just have to say that seventeen's ballads are top tier, I personally classified them as Woozi's divorce era (there are more of these, man has been like in ten divorces already), Woozi's happy/in love era, and HHU's sad era

Home;Run was the song that made me stop fighting getting into SVT 😭. And Seungkwan’s line in Left&Right made me learn everyone’s names (mainly because I needed to figure out who sang after Dino lmao). I really really love SVT.

When they say Vernon is the hidden vocalists, it's true. I had no clue he had a range until I saw the Maknae line performing "Change Up" and Vernon was singing Woozi's part. Girl, you need to see that. Dino performs S. Coups part and Seungkwan performs Hoshi's part. Anyway, Seventeen really need to think about doing a theatrical music release. Home Run proves that they can pull it off. They were such babies in "Very Nice" and I am with you when it comes to Jeonghan's hair.....beautiful.....he is beautiful.

My first ever seventeen comeback was home;run when I just had started to get to know them better and my reaction to the8 doing that flip at the end was literally the same as yours. I was mesmerized by the mv and all the fireworks like I couldn’t believe my eyes. After that I was convinced of stanning them and let me tell you it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. GIRL PLEASEEEEE WATCH this live performance of them from 2018 Gaon awards I believe where Thanks was the last song they were performing in their set of FOUR SONGS (Jun and Minghao did 5 because they first performed their duo song)- they were exhausted, but the way they gave it their all just makes me emotional every time. Especially Hoshi's encouraging shout. Beautiful performance, if you want to cry, I recommend lol

Thanks is very moving because the mv itself has seventeen themselves as the characters. making music, making lyrics, bouncing around choreo ideas while in the studio, practising, recording, getting their makeup done, on the bus sleeping, eating, hanging out in restaurants. it feels sincere. and that moment on the makeup room where they were looking at each other then at you and at the hallway running and then vernon looking at you. it feels like they're suddenly including you and it hits so hard hahahah
I really recommend you to check on the lyrics (you can do it off camera it’s okay) after you reacting to the mvs that dont have any subtitles coz idk how to explain it but the lyrics of their old releases are so fun. Maybe because theyre quite young at that time so their lyrics sounds very simple, pure and innocent(?) idk how to explain this properly but i bet a lot of people would understand what ive been meaning to say. It’s like theyre telling me what happened in their day to me through the lyrics. For example, adore u, mansae, very nice, clap etc. Even the lyrics of their old bsides are like this. speaking of songs you need a box of tissues for...i was just listening to woozi's what kind of future last night and bawling my eyes out. it's an unreleased song and he's only performed it in concerts so the audio available on youtube isn't the greatest but it STILL tears you apart. the lyrics especially. wishing you the best of luck for when you hear it for the first time!

All of them are amazing, they are a complete group, they all compose, produce, take care of the choreos, film and direct their own mv, create the merch, etc. self-produced group and the most synchronized of kpop, the best of all is that seventeen will release their 4th full album this May 27th. ~ Fun Fact about Aju Nice is that during the end of SVT’s concerts they would play Aju Nice but when song ends they would repeat the chorus “Aju Nice” **da da da da da da** and SVT would continue to stay on stage. Even when SVT are about to leave or they think it’s over… Aju Nice comes back on and they run back to the stage. Hence why the song got the name “Neverending Aju Nice”
~ Home,Run actually blew twitter when it first came out and gave SVT the title of “Theater Kid of Kpop”
~ Thanks is a song SEVENTEEN wrote as a thanks to Carats and in the end of choreo SVT make a picky promise with their rings and it’s like a promise from them to Carats.

Also, as you continue this journey, I just need you to know that it’s just as common (if not more common) to have a few biases/a bias line for SVT as it is to have a single bias. I at one point was just thinking it through and had decided…. Oh ok, I think I have like 5 in my line… but I deadass have forgotten which five I had decided on when I came up with that number. I remember one or two of them but the cutoff as to where that 5 ended is unknown to me.
SVT were also the first Kpop group I had explored (abt 2 years ago), and I’m not kidding, I thought biases were like a casual “oh this one has my interest rn, might mess around and add one or switch it up” kind of way. It is apparently not this way, and I had been misinformed lmao.
But no, for a moment of appreciation to you, it’s been so fun and engaging to watch you experience them and to be so open and enthusiastic and positive. I know it must take a lot of effort emotionally, time-wise, and effort-wise, so Thank you!
Thanks is heart breaking the whole song is pretty much saying "When I was younger I took advantage and couldn't see the real feelings I felt, but after meeting you I found them, and I want to thank you for giving me that love for you and for giving me memories, the thank you doesn't reach how much it means to me" which just shattered my world.

I would love nothing more than to go to a stray kids or seventeen concert, but unfortunately I live in Ireland and no kpop group has ever come here 😭. The closet they get is London but that’s still an hours flight and I can’t afford to be flying to London. I know of seventeen since debut but it wasn’t until I experienced being in their concert that I truly became a fan. Watching their thanks performance in person is just so breathtaking I just felt so moved of their teamwork and how much they’ve hustled through their work, but at the same time there’s something that felt so comforting and humble about them. I feel like they’ll come to you at the right time whether it’s through their music, performances, or even through their shows, you’ll eventually become a fan of them :)
Also since the concert I’m scared of aju nice lololol 😅😂
I'm not really a hardcore carat but i have to say, they are amazing. The first thing that caught my eye and immetiately impressed me was the choreo. Because probably the first thing i saw from them was a dance practice and i was actually stunned for days. And then finding out that they make their own choreo... you can imagine how my reaction looked like. (Sry for mistakes since english is not my first language)

I really appreciate you pointing out about the built-up in Thanks. When I first binge listened to Seventeen discography, I notice that the technique is applied in a lot in their songs. I did some reading and apparently it’s called an “anti-drop”, which technique and style are so quintessentially Woozi and Seventeen (I have also seen comments calling such technique Woozi’s specialty) - and this is, I think, what makes their sounds/style very unique and set their sounds apart from the entire of Kpop, if I can be upfront. But I stand corrected though. I’ve really enjoyed your Seventeen reaction videos. It reminds me a lot of how I reacted and felt when I first got into them. Thank you so much Caitlin!
p/s: I would love to hear your thoughts on a few of their unreleased songs - like What Kind of Future by Woozi (painstakingly beautiful), Zero (Hero) by Dino & hip hop unit tracks like Sukyo (literally their KCON 2018 performance is like the hottest thing in the world) and un haeng il chi!
