If I was able to choose which engine came in it, I'd have taken the 6.2 but the 5.3 is great as well. Maybe I'll procharge it at some point and make up that extra power lol. But mine came with the 8 speed which is great, has a sunroof, heat/cooled seats, etc. Practically every upgrade you can think of. Big upgrade from the things I've owned before haha. GREAT video...nicely done. My last two GM trucks had the 5.3L. My new truck (2021 GMC Sierra AT4) has the 6.2L. BIG difference. It also has a CAI, Borla muffler (flapper delete), Pulsar LT, and stock wheels (with one size taller Bridgestone Revo 3 A/T tires). No added weight with the tires. I call my current AT4 "a Corvette with four wheel drive". I didn't buy it for fuel mileage, or being in the slow lane. 91 octane is good. 93 octane is hard to find here in Oklahoma...but, it is def better. @hamiltoncouple01 6 днів тому

Count your blessings you have the 6 speed. GM has a huge issue with 8 speed, very unreliable. Pay attention to shifting in your 6 speed. These transmissions have weak torque converters. They slowly come apart and metal filings will get into the solenoids causing occasional hard shift when slowing down. Once you notice that, immediately change out torque converter. You have roughly 6 months till transmission fails from that point if you don’t change out the converter. GM rebuilds are around $5000. 8 speed is even worst. More prone to failures.

I also pulled an 8,000 lb travel trailer 20 miles (flat no change in elevation) and ended with 16 mpg (trip average) on 87 octane (would have used 91 if I knew I was going to tow). This morning on my way to church 6.5 miles away (flat) my trip average was 24.1 mpg and 25.1 mpg on the way back and there's 7 stop lights, 2 stop signs, and a roundabout with 35 - 50mph speed limits (87 octane). So glad I got the 6.2. I wrestled with getting a truck for years, for fuel economy and practicality reasons, kept trying to cram everything into our SUV that I could get 25 mpg - 30mpg. How about doing the same runs on the 6.2 with the 24” and see how that affect the numbers you already have. I really want to see the difference.

I agree. I want to see what the big wheels cost for performance

The 5.3 Is pretty good but with a few Upgrades Some headers, Cold air system, Custom exhaust, And the biggest upgrade I did was 4.10 Gears It has a 6" left and 35" MT With all that power now Believe it or not I can turn those 35s Thanks for the video.

Do the same to the 6.2 and it’s the same outcome, 6.2 sits on top.

Or save money and get a 6.2. Same outcome.

I've owned both,, just got the 2023 tahoe premier 5.3, but that 6.2 is just a beast of a motor. I miss that. 5.3 does ok, but 6.2 just hits different.

Looking to pick up a 2021 AT4 with the 6.2 this week. Nervous about filling the tank with at least 91 octane going forward. Its gonna be fun, but pricey.

I have an 06 SS 6.0 2wd and when I take traction control off she’s a blast! I can only imagine these 6.2s. Not letting go of my baby though.
