[ISHC #16] LIVE! Shiny Rayquaza after 11,428 SRs in Sapphire

Since getting Mareep I've been keeping up a consistent pace for this, and I honestly expected it to go over 20k, as I've had a notable absence of 20k+ hunts recently (with the exception of Mareep). Like the other two members of the weather trio this shone in the 10 thousands; for reference here are the figures for the other two hunts:
Kyogre - 17,228 [Found 16/05/2020]
Groudon - 13,434 [Found 27/05/2020]
I'll probably head back for a couple more phases for Yanma whilst seeing if I can get something to shine on my cap card now.

Gg you get it in less than a week ^^ , when i learned as a child i could have a shiny rayquaza 15 years ago, i did reset him during at least 3 or 4 weeks during my summer vacation ( so clearly started at morning around 10h00 before stop at evenig around 18-19 hours or more x) ) for have mine :3 Today i don't have him anymore, but a friend have a clone i've did for of him when we could did it at GTS on Diamond/pearl that awaiting for me as he could have his one some years after ^^

is the single ds with a capture card able to record one or all of the game boys? i was thinking about putting one in mine

the gameboys are just recorded with a camera. The capture card is separate and it just records what happens on the modded DS itself

I wanted it in an ultra ball too, but after I got it down to 1HP i realized it had outrage which confuses itself so I had no choice but to use my master ball on it lol

​@@Hohkage If you prepare it definitely is possible. Set up is a little tricky but it works, just read carefully. Get a Pokemon with the move Grudge and keep it at low HP, and get another one with the move Encore. Make sure they're both FASTER than Ray (highly important), so train accordingly.
For the battle, lead with the Encore mon and if Ray doesn't use Outrage immediately, keep healing it back to full after any damage to prevent your mon from fainting till Ray uses Outrage. Do not damage Ray. When it does use Outrage, use Encore next turn which will lock it into Outrage, and let it KO you. Then you bring in your Grudge Pokemon which has low health and use Grudge. When the next Outrage inevitably KOs you, Outrage will lose all of its PP due to Grudge. This is why you want low health, to make sure this happens. After you've made sure Outrage has no PP and Ray snaps out of confusion, you're safe to bring out your false swipe/status mon and proceed to weaken it and catch it the usual way without any risk.
Practice this a few times and test it out before you begin the hunt to make sure it's all good. This can still fail and go wrong so have a master ball just in case, but definitely worth trying if you really want it in a luxury ball. I'd also suggest having a pokemon with Trick holding leftovers so you can Trick it the leftovers if it starts struggling. If this is what you're doing then also make sure to keep track of its moves and the PP it has left on each so you know when Trick it. Good luck!
