Just bought my first car 2016 buick Lacrosse full cash! Definitely was worth saving up. Cause i don't have to worry about monthly payments. Just insurance :) so happy for myself
That is awesome Kayla! I agree that it's a great feeling! Usually you can save monthly "processing fees" with insurance companies if you pay for your 6 months/1 year policy up front. Just a tip to help you save even more and have even less bills every month ;)
Kayla Reyna Congratulations for sinking cash in a depreciating asset . Now if you need cash for something else its all buried in your car which is worth alot less than when you bought it
Bought a Corrolla for $6000 cash -2011 Corolla with 39,000kms. I think if I decide to sell I can sell for the same price. Car does not have power options lol. Hey I like it still, less to no repairs at all.
Heck yes it does! I am a big fan of debt free car ownership! There are arguments to having loans but to the huge majority it is better to own vehicles free and clear!
ironically my brother was a car salesman for Toyota, and my parents have taken out 3 cars out but paid in full within a couple of years. thanks for putting out this video, and even if it's not for everyone, it sure feels amazing to have less payments to make every month Great videos btw
Look for used cars on the bulletin boards at senior centers or retirement communities. Sometimes a family member just wants to get rid of a relative's car and will sell it fairly cheap.
Good tip, lot of times seniors don't tear up their cars with high mileage, etc. Several years ago I inherited my Grandmother's car when she passed away. It had very low miles on it, as we jokingly said all she did was go to church and go to bingo, lol.
It's an emission test that CA has on all vehicles that are '76 and newer. There are other types of vehicles that are exempt but most require it. I'm not sure what the other states require of if all other states even have it.
Same principles for more expensive cars. I wouldn't ever bring cash if it've over $10k but thats just me. I usually will have them meet me at a bank if I decide to go through with the purchase but that's all up to you. The more expensive the car, usually the better deal you can get. If they're asking $28k and its worth about that much, not many people will buy that private party so it would be pretty realistic that could get it for 24-25k cash. At a dealership you could probably do the same thing but the chances are not as great. Best advice I can give is, don't fall in love with any 1 car too hard or you will most likely over pay for it. Figure out what you're looking for and negotiate until you find the right deal. Often times with expensive cars people hold firm at first so you may need to watch those ads and see the car and haggle when they first post it, and if you can't agree on a price then just watch the ad and come back every week or so because you'll have the extra leverage of, "hey it's been sitting for a week now and I still have cash. Let's make a deal." Hopefully this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!
Ryan Moyer Thanks. I actually got the car for what the dealership paid for it. And they put a couple grand of labor into It after they got it. They were PISSED when I didn’t budge on the price, but they wanted it off the lot lmao.
I'm a first time buyer. HELP😣! California looking for a medium size suv. I want to pay cash. How much can I ask to knock off the window price without getting laughed at? Any recommendations on year and make on a suv. Thank you kindly in advanced.
Hello sir can u please help me i also will be trying to buy a car for the first time can u please be honest with me and tell me if I can really buy a great used car for under 7,000 or only cars that low are horrible because I will be driving almost 16 miles for 3 days a week for college and work please let me know thanks
Hi, you can definitely pick up a very decent car for under $7,000. It might not be perfect and there will certainly be trade-off's but you can absolutely find something that runs reliably and gets the job done in that price range.
Nice video man. I want to buy my dream car (PontiacG8) but I feel like it will take forever to save up for it. I don’t want another car note but I’m so impatient I don’t know what to do.
I would keep saving! I know it is super hard but honestly it's a great feeling. At the beginning it feels like it would take forever to save up a bunch of money and then put it into a car but once you do it, you feel as if you wouldn't do it any other way! At least that is true for most everyone I know who has done it. Most people will not agree but most people do not have discipline. And I financed a lot of cars before I decided I was done with car notes so I understand the struggle and lack of discipline.
Steven Stewart I was impatient when I was younger - got me into financial trouble and put me behind on retirement savings...we were using a credit card to buy groceries at one point and borrowing $50 here or there to pay bills. I had to learn to act like an adult instead of a impatient child with my money. Other than my house payment, I'm now debt-free. I will eventually get the sports car I want, but my impatience early in life cost me. If you can do something on the side to boost your income, you may be able to afford the car quicker.
Hi, There really isn't an "average car insurance" price. Each policy is going to depend on who you are as a driver - i.e. male, female, how many years of driving experience you have, what zip code you live in, if you have your car garaged or not, how many miles you expect to drive, if your car is used for commuting, work, etc., and then the deductibles you have in place and how much coverage you have in place. From my experience, it can be as cheap as a few hundred a year to a few thousand. I had a Honda motorcycle for awhile that cost about $270/ year to insure and I had a BMW 335i that cost about $1,700 to insure with full coverage and higher coverage limits. So it all depends. I would call around and start getting quotes from different insurance companies once you have an idea of what car/truck/suv you plan on buying.
Thank you so much for responding back to me and given me such great advice. Can you please answer one more question for me. I just got my first apartment and I found out that my renters insurance company also has auto insurance. Will a dealership sale to me their car and let me text drive that car on auto renters insurance ? Or do it have to be a famous auto company. Like allsate or gecho? Please let me know i have no one else i can go to for these questions thanks😭😭😭😭😍
If you buy a$2000 car be sure to have another $2000 set aside for repairs when (not if) it breaks down. I have been driving for over 50 years, almost all in old used cars. I know this from my personal experience.
Barry Johnson that hasn’t been my experience at all. The goal of a $2000 car is to drive it for 12 months max to move up into a better car IMO. There is definitely a chance something will come up but usually only smaller things that can be DIY with $100 at autozone or pick n’ pull. I appreciate the input though! It’s definitely something to consider. Drive anything long enough and there will always be repairs!

I 100% agree! I am 26 years old and currently have 0 debt. I paid off all my student loan and bought a 2001 4Runner Limited in CASH.
Hell yeah!! Debt free is the way to be my friend

This is a REALLY good tip!
Yes but what do you do when the car dealer will not sell you the car unless you use dealer financing? Or insist on running a credit check?
Don't shop with anyone that doesn't give you what you want.
Hope you got this figured out!
Very helpful .... I like the idea of buying a cheaper car cash and drive it for a year while saving to buy the car you want for cash
Thank you for the comment! I think in most instances, it is best to buy a cheaper car cash and save up the cash for the next one.
Smog? What in the world do you mean by that?

You didnt check well before purchased. lol

I down with saving money? But I’m not down with switching out used cars every 2 years, sometimes every year. Just buy a brand new 4 runner!! 1 time!

Great video!!!
Thank you I appreciate that!
What’s up Ryan Moyer I will buy a truck in cash
Good call my friend!
What’s with the “smogs/smugs thing dude?? Wth you talking about?
Some states have requirements for emission testing. If a car won’t pass it won’t get registered.
Its emissions, but liberal shit hole California has to be weird
Some states require the car to take a smog/emissions test to register it legally, and if you can't register it or the registration expires well 💩💩💩
they should call it, how to buy a cash car
Not a bad idea
Can u also tell me how much is a average car insurance please please.Thank

Do you have a court appointed guardian ?
Why do you ask? Will it help?
GJJH Wanderer
Yes because it is easy to take advantage of morons and a guardian will have a duty to protect you from yourself
Paying cash for a car is the worst thing you can do.
I don't think it's the worst thing you can do, but hey I can certainly understand reasons why you wouldn't pay cash!
Yeah because paying intrest to a bank is a better idea.
really why????
🤦🏽♂️ I think you meant to say paying cash is the best thing you can do.
