  • Today's video focuses on Pilning Railway Station which only has two services a week both in the same direction and both on Saturday. The 08:32 and 15:32 Cardiff Central to Penzance.
    The station opened on Sept 8th 1863 by the Bristol & South Wales Union Railway. December 12, 1866 station re-sited following opening of the Severn Tunnel. July 9, 1928 Pilning Low Level Station opened on the Severn Beach Line. November 22, 1964 Low Level Station closed.
    November 5, 2016 westbound platform closed following removal of footbridge as a result of electrification. Pilning once had an extensive goods yard and one of the largest railway communities in the Bristol area. The Goods yard closed in 1965.
