    Definite on the bug spray, I have some cheap Harbor Freight knee pads. Good tips. Happy Hunting my friend!

      Thanks! Many people hunt old farm houses which is great. But there is stuff to be found in the woods.

    Just ordered a Tracker IV from Amazon to find my 30 year old Dog Tag that fell from my necklace chain but after this Video I’m pretty stoked to go out to the Woods and playgrounds etc… I stay bored quite often and I think this will get my Old broken Ass outside thank you for the Video, Semper Fidelis

    I have the Pioneer 202, this one, and a Vanquish 340. These are fun detectors for old relics, finding scrap metal, and coins. Tough too.

    • @thriftingncollecting
      @thriftingncollecting  3 роки тому

      Yeah any detector will find stuff, it's just about what kind of stuff you want to find. Nicer detectors with better coils tend to let you know what you are digging and get a deeper range which is nice.

    Would you recommend the tracker 4 for a begginer with zero experience?

    • @thriftingncollecting
      @thriftingncollecting  4 роки тому +4

      I would for sure. 1. You do not have to ground it. 2. It picks up many things without having to dial in the sensitivity. 3. It just takes Alkaline batteries. 4. Tones are pretty simple. 5. Not very heavy or hard to swing.

    how much depth this detector sees

    • @thriftingncollecting
      @thriftingncollecting  3 роки тому

      Usually about 4-6 inches. Deeper if it's a really big object. Depends on what you are sifting through - ex. Sand vs rocks

    Does it work for all metals and gold

    • @thriftingncollecting
      @thriftingncollecting  3 роки тому

      I believe it does. You can notch out different metals with the disc/notch dial. Aluminum especially picks up easily. It's more how big and how deep the target is that determines if it gets picked up.

  • @Mr.Technical77

    It’s good if you’re in that $100 bracket. I wouldn’t like to use it in the woods much though, being so limited in depth and considering the layers of foliage that build up year after year. I think if you’re into saving and collecting, and if you can invest a little more, buy a used Nokta Makro Simplex for $175-$200. It’s as deep and capable as they come, even waterproof, and you’ll never outgrow it.

    • @thriftingncollecting
      @thriftingncollecting  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Yeah I'm definitely looking to upgrade at some point. That might be a good next move. When I do, I'll try to make a new video for sure.

    • @baneverything5580
      @baneverything5580 3 роки тому

      I decided on a Vanquish 340 open box deal at the moment instead of the Simplex. But in the future I want to detect underwater in old swimming holes on creeks and will get it then.

      This is really your primary focus on a metal detecting video?
