  • I just had the pleasure of doing an audio-only podcast with Nick from PandaMonium Reviews, to discuss his latest epic documentary about Sega Rally. We discussed what goes into making a four hour, forty minute production, as well as how he gets his game footage and some other fun moments about the documentary, game and history of Sega at the time. If you're into "behind the scenes" stuff - especially if you're a fellow creator - this is a fun one to listen to. His channel is an absolute gem on UA-cam. Even if you're not a SEGA fan, subscribe to Pandamonium and watch Nick's videos. Totally worth it.

But ESPECIALLY if you're a SEGA fan. His content is already pure gold, but it's particularly valuable for guys like us, who care *way* too much about this particular company.

With regard to Rally's popularity and sales in America, I don't remember ever seeing the arcade game in arcades. It certainly wasn't out there to experience like Daytona was. I think that, plus the already low Saturn user base at the time contributed to the less than stellar sales.

Nick's long videos can be very hard to watch in one setting but I find that when you break it up into segments, as you mentioned Bob, it helps you watch it more like a series. My viewing spanned 3 nights because I'm an adult and life can be busy. But it was 100% worth taking the time to view it. I've never played this game and, honestly, I wondered what he'd have to say about a rally game for that long but, doggonit, there was a lot to say and it's amazing how you, Nick, were able to interview so many people that were involved with the project. My only criticism is at this point, you might want to consider stopping calling these "reviews". Lol. These are documentaries with a short review thrown in.

I really prefer to watch it in one full shot, only really breaking it up into segments when I have to.

Love that Bob is interviewing Nick, that documentary was incredible. But it is somewhat annoying when video makers come onto a podcast and can't get their audio to sound at all near the standards they'd employ for their own videos. Not sure if this is due to whatever meeting/call software was being used, but it would be really appreciated by listeners if each person on the call could record their audio locally (with good mic, and appropriate surroundings) and then spliced together after the call.
