I just don't like idolization of rather mediocre musicians. Happening to often.
I played drums for over 20 years. Even made a few albums. But my playing was very mediocre and I really couldn't care less about that. So no salt and no tears.

As a beginner drummer, this song motivates me so much (and Dom does too!) This song is one of my faves and I want to be able to play it one day but right now it seems absolutely impossible :D
keep going, eventually you will get to a point where you would say, "knights of cydiona" ooh easy haha. But remember its always important to develop your own style, you can cover but dont forget to improvise.

This galloping rhythm is one of the hardest technique in drumming to play on repeat for long period of time, you have to have internal body metronome to play this song.

I don't know much bout drum, but I can tell most drum cover of this song miss 1 hit on running horse part. Here's real one.
Yes because to play it, it requires you to have extra floor tom on the left side of the hihat (on Dom’s kit it’s reversed order because he plays lefty). Not many have two floor toms, or if they do rarely setup it so that the other is next to hihat. And when you don’t have that setup you don’t even think about playing such patterns.
