I think Lea definitely deserves the National Artist Award (based on the criteria for it), but since the president of the Philippines has to approve it (sign a decree) and she is currently producing (and for a short time performing in) a Broadway musical that criticizes the Marcos regime from the mid-60s to mid-80s - it seems highly unlikely.
I cried once Lea started singing..time flies and I feel bitter sweet…I miss those moments with parents n me being just a little girl n happy..now it seems like it’s hard to get a time for them anymore…a whole new world gives me comfort
