Today, we have an International ProStar with Cummins ISX15 engine came to our shop with high differential pressure, DPF wouldn't regen, and super high soot level. We will show you how to troubleshoot the issues and how we can get the system do a forced regen. Fault code - 1922 and 1921. Good video, thanks! I've had a 2017 T680 with ISX for just over a year and I noticed it had started doing rolling regens ever other run I made. Over a weekend, I went to the yard, disconnected the tractor from the trailer and pulled it out into an empty area in the yard and did a forced regen. Since then, it hasn't done a rolling regen. The rolling regens suck because they KILL your fuel mileage. It's CRAZY how hot this thing gets when it does a regen. You definitely DON'T want to do it around other equipment or anywhere near grass, leaves, etc.
Cool video Ryan. That Rig app seems like a good idea. I'm not a trucker but I own a oldInternational 4700 and always worry about the possibility of a big tow bill on a long trip. I wish you and your family a happy holiday. Cheers.
Thank you for this video. I do fleet maintenance on mostly Internationals w/ISX. A few Cascadia’s w/DD13’s. I also ise a SO link edge. Luckily I’ve not had this happen to me (yet), not doing a forced regen. However, if I do, now I know how to “make it happen”. BTW I normally force a regen at every oil change. I usually see a .5-1.0 oz of soot. Am I doing good by that? Thanks.
hi Ryan, love your stuff and vids. i need a little help and advise on what device to buy to be able to connect to the ecm on my truck, w9 with isx 15. thanks in advance.

Hey Ryan I have a 1691 fault code on my 2019 kenworth t680 I have a Cummins engine,I was driving the truck everything was good truck was as doing a regen while driving and I think I shut the truck off before the regen was complete and o got a check engine light and the code is giving me is a 1691 I don’t think dpf filter was replaced brand new 1 year ago so I don’t think is a bad filter what are your thoughts?
Does soot level go down when you hot dog the truck, I noticed from the OTR tool it will say 8% soot level, but then if I climb a road mountain or really getting on the truck goes down 2 or 3%. Also what is an acceptable ash level to go and have the DPF cleaned, currently OTR says it's at 71%?
Any knowledge on Volvo d13 I have code 5443 fmi 7 comes on 10 min after I turn it on in the morning and goes of around 10 am. And runs perfect fine any ideas
i have 2014 freightliner cascadia cummins isx15 its showing 4796 code of doc , and its regen only for 3 minutes , asking regen again but not regenerating.
When I try to do a park force Regen it tell me it's inhibit something about my sart battery the button just flash on my dashboard then went to hook my laptop up that's when it gave me that sart battery so I won't allow me to do Force Regen it say my soot level is 100%
HI great videos I have a question : I have a 2019 Kenworth t680 PaccarMX13 I have a warning on the dash.. "sooth level very High " and it will not go on passive Regen nor a forced Regen. it has a couple of codes pointing at the EGR: P1488, U1573, 127-5 . I noticed that the control arm wich connects the 2 moving parts was missing, so I thought, maybe that's the problem but the dealer don't offer that part for sale so I fashioned one and installed it. went on the highway for 30 min at 65MPH and nothing, parked the truck , try forced Regen and nothing. any advice any tricks to force the Regen besides replacing the EGR thank you
Hey Ryan how you doing I have a problem My 2013 ford f650 with a Cummins motor Billing up bad pressure Crank case filter I take the truck to cummins dealer Change crank filter case back Pressure sensor And I still have oil coming up to the crankcase filter
Hey can you run without a crankcase pressure sensor? I have one with bad wires that keep making my check engine light come on I know it had to be the wires because I replaced the filter and sensor and it’s still showing the same exact code so I was thinking maybe just unplug it and the check engine light will go off maybe?
@@bthatruckerwere you able to figure it out ? I’m having your same issue installed new dpf filter and new dpf pressure sensor and new doser and I’m still getting the spn 3936 fmi=2
stop parts throwing parts at the dpf system and costing your customers money, the sensor should read .69 at key on with engine off, and many will show .63 but function correctly, the regen is triggered at .88, once you show the ecm that a new filter is installed it changes the amount of fuel injected on a regen, as the filter ages and fills up with soot the ecm increases the amount injected, to trick a regen either remove the hoses or plug in a new or know good sensor and regen, however you should use caution doing this as you can melt the dpf system and or set the cab on fire, once the regen is in process and the temps stabilize the dpf temps should be within 50 degrees of each other, in and out, and no more than 100 degrees difference or the doc is bad. also use insite to set the aftertreatment tab in features and parameters the first two down should be enabled so it will regen in pto and the park brake. i would assume this guy idles and idles it up so a regen is almost never done

Awesome Excellent Informative Education on ProStar DPF Regen🥇💯🎯🛟😊
Will resetting the DPF/doc mess up anything in the truck due to do filters not being changed?
Ryan, do you recommend doing a forced regen once in a while to keep things flowing, or wait until the onboard ecu request it.
I recommend weekly forced regen to get the system clean.
Out of curiosity, how does that snap on scan tool get along with other makes? Does it work on all heavy duty makes and engines?

Where are you located sir great info
Can you reset the differential pressure sensor with otr
Can you make a video demonstrating how to properly flush the bad coolant out of a cummins isx15 ?
Good suggestion! Will do one when situation allows. 👍
@@truckingandfixing Thanks Ryan you’re a life saver
HI Ryan how often should the truck be doing a Regen my truck is doing one about every 100 hr is that normal?
Depends how you run it. But that sounds pretty normal in my experience.
I'm dealing with this same issue

Piston rings
Or scuffed bore

Check engine light will not go off if you unplugged it. Will just set a code for the open circuit.
