In very loving memory of Mr. James DeShay Jr. (1919 - 1998 R.I.P. // Gone but NOT forgotten)
DeShay was such a great man. He watched out for me as a 22 year old white blues fan in his club. His music was so good, his guitar so crisp, and his heart so big. He is among the greats that St. Louis seems to forget. A city that dishonors its history soon becomes history itself. Thanks for posting this!
God bless James DeShay and the people who knew how to play real blues...!
I had to come back too see this video. It's quality is superb. I have the honor of owning a copy of this performance as well as the CD. Thank you once again for posting this.
I am so honored to have someone outside of my family recognize his talent. He is currently not recognized in the National Blues Museum here in St. Louis, which I hope to change.
There are many people around the world feeling the same for the great James DeShay i know many friends here in Agrentina with that feeling. God bless you.
That is shocking that he is not recognized in the museum. Ridiculous, considering his talent and the fact that he BROUGHT blues to the city's audiences with his club. Sigh... I'm so tired of wondering what's wrong with some of the minds of this world. Please know that his talent is appreciated and also know that the cream doesn't always rise and some of the people "in charge" are simply not our best and are just absolutely clueless. I'm so happy to learn of your Grandpa from a friend from Chicago who knows about quality
Great stuff, thank's for sharing.
Just fantastic!!!
Dis be da shit man
I wonder what pedals he uses.
Miss you Grandpa more than you will ever know.RIP James DeShay. Gone but never forgotten by your family.
