You have to remember the D-backs have played the majority of their season without Gallen and Merrill. Number one and number two starter. Perdomo just got back as well. This is a team that pitches very well, plays solid defense and can steal a lot of 90’s on the bases. They’re built for winning tight high pressure games. Their plan is to play .500 ball until they get their staff back, get in on a wild card and try to make a series run with a fraction of the salary as teams like Philly and LA.
Stubbs has been a personal catcher of sorts for Sanchez for a while. A catcher that knows a pitchers tendencies, strengths, pacing and attitude is worth more than the slight uptick in offense that marchan might provide. Plus stubbs has been a big league catcher for 5 years. Plus PLUS everyone in that clubhouse loves stubby.
I was at this game, absolutely electric at the bank. Sanchez was DEALING a today and our offense came through when we needed it. Great game!💯🔔🎈
