I struggled with dlight dair until I found you literally have to jump and dlight at the EXACT same time while holding a direction the whole time, no dodge window if you do it right.

Knowing combo strings that both your enemy and yourself are capable of, along with knowing what signatures take priority during the match up are huge factors. Not only should you know how to pull off a full combo, but you should also know all the opportunities you are given to break out of them. I am plat unarmed main

@seven thank you i watched it over and over again and couldn’t tell if he was jumping cause I can get the down air off it just isn’t high enough but I’m guessing the jump is only a half jump because you press them at the same time kinda like katars side light into dash down light together

Hes said himself that his scythe kinda sucks I mean obviously he's still high diamond with it but thats more to him having generally very good fundamentals and less him being good at specifically scythe

Hey Cosolix I loved this! But you forgot that you can JUMP with recovery in Dlight>Recover to get higher distance and slightly push enemy higher.
That’s optional though. But it’s high risk if the opponent is experienced.

dlight = s + light attack, sair = a/s and light, nair = nothing and light attack, grav cancel is when you do a move while holding dodge making u float

Downlight air up light (neutral) is a true combo as well
Although it's harder to do, since you need to move slightly sideways before hitting up
It's easier to do if you boost toward the target before you downlight but eh

you might not need to jump, but if you do hold down diagonally and hit as fast as possible
