You shouldn't roll in this fight. No Jumping would be more annoying. No running would be the worst.

It's easier to kill him with out a horse. What's the point of the video? It's obvious it's easier to kill him on foot from the very 1st encounter.

I saw a video where someone threw an item inside the top of the furnace and it did major damage to it. I believe it was a hefty furnace pot? Try getting above one of the cliffs and see if it works for you. I haven't tried yet.
