This recorder sonata is Telemann's most famous. It has delighted thousands of students and horrified hundreds of teachers. From its popularity it might be called the "Easy Sonata", in reference to W.A.Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 16, the "Semplice Sonata", KV 545. Except that it is not easy to play at all, already by the presence of the high C in the last movement, a note which does not really exist and has been used to my knowledge only twice in baroque music for recorder; here and in a concerto for recorder ... by Telemann.

Musicians rushing to a performance. Wind bringing havoc to the videographer. A refined setting and lots of practicing culminating in excellence for a worldwide audience, including this one man in Grantsville, Utah, USA. Realism, expertise, joy. BRAVO!
Muchas gracias desde Soria (España)
Ha sido un regalo único.
Continuaré escuchándole.
MERCI !!!!

Delightful!
That C in altississimo is the terror of every recorder player. (On both my altos, it speaks flat unless both holes 1 and 4 are half-holed, and the amount of air it requires is phenomenal.) 'Sonate facile' - c'est un canard!
Drôle, très drôle! Quand d’ excellents musiciens ne se prennent pas au sérieux! Quelle merveilleuse découverte!
heres why I love Guido.... Hes playful with the music. His joy of the music shines fourth within this playfulness.
😉
I’m not so sure how facile it is, but I love it no matter how difficile.
😂
❤🎶 ❤🎉
Oh my word this was one of my exam pieces in 1986! Still know which notes are coming next even after all these years. Wonderful to hear someone else playing it. Good job!
🎉❤🎶 🙏❤
Did the high C go well in the third movement? 😯
Great recording and nice, crisp sound, thank you for sharing!
Gracias.

Felicitaciones! 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Delightful and beautifully played. Loved it especially the embellishments!
Wonderfully exuberant. Thank you all!
Toujours aussi drôle.... mais brillant ! Quel personnage, facteur d'instruments et musicien émérite...
En un mot.... BRAVO

Viva la música!
Wow I nice brompton!!!USA
Beautiful scene ❤️
Sonate facile. Happy to know that Telemann had a lot of irony. This sonata is not easy...bravo for sound mixing also since all IS very balanced.
Beautiful! Thanks very much from Argentina ❤
Bravo! Ultimo! Encore! 👏
Brilhante!!! Bravo!
Very wonderful 🎉
I like this sonata very much in all of Telemenn’s recorder sonata
‼️
Bravo bravissimo🎶❤️🎵
Magnifique ! Merci pour ce morceau
The high C is indeed used only by Telemann (to the best of my knowledge...), in this sonata, and in a cantata for SATB, recorder solo, oboes and strings. It may be regarded as a recorder concerto of sorts, because the recorder part is very difficult indeed...
What about Telemann's recorder concerto in F major? It also uses The high C in the second movement (Allegro).
@@miguelmarques878 I know of that piece, of course, but have never played it. I much prefer the C major concerto, whic is, IMO, the most beautiful recorder concerto in the repertoire.
How extraordinarily uplifting, what a joy, thank you.
ah so nice! this sonata gives me good vibes 🥰
Todo perfecto.
BRAVIII!!! ...
👏👏👏👏👏
👍👍👍👍👍
🙏❤🎉 🎶 🎶
Fantastic playing! And very beautiful accompaniment too! Trumpet is my main instrument, just a hobby though, I’m no professional. However I’ve very recently bought a second-hand alto recorder, just a chance/spur of the moment purchase. I’ve been enjoying a few beginner videos on UA-cam and really enjoying some quite virtuoso performances, mainly from you! 👍😃. I’m awaiting delivery of Aldo Bova’s alto recorder method before I’ll begin some serious study of this wonderful little instrument! I don’t expect that I’ll get anywhere near as accomplished as you on my alto (an Aulos), I’m already in my early 50s and not even good on trumpet, even after a few years now, but I’ll see how far I can go!
Kindest regards,
Donald 🎺🏴
🎉🎉❤ 🎶 🙏🥳
Kultur pur! So ein Vergnügen❤
Bravo...
Nice video

Very nice video and sonata
bravissimo!
Maravilhoso
Bravo 👏😃
So good! Thanks :)
I hope one day I play teh recorder that way
That high C does exist indeed on an alto of good quality... the only question is whether you can go even higher than that or not. F# and A below that is more difficult because you need to use your knee to cover the end of the recorder.
thanks nice
It was absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for pleasure!!! May I ask you: what is the brand name of this recorder?
Gracias

That face of wonder in 1.31... 🤣🤣🤣
That Brompton would be stolen ten seconds after the door closed.
I know it's normal because every musician does it and I love the piece and performance, but all the mugging at each other drives me crazy.
"Facile"? I do *not* guess...
