There's a difference between how the natural man receives and how the New Created receives from the spirit.
We receive Revelation By the Hope Spirit which comes as visions, trance and prophecies. But the natural man cannot receive this, hence he is left in the realms of dreams.
Dreams are not absolute because their sources are not always by the Spirit of God, but visions are clearly instructions of the Spirit.
