It's probably because when they did the cutscenes they only did the motion capture for the two players and the third player was just added later on but the motion capture wasn't updated to reflect the change, but the dialog from the third player's character does make for some funny moments.
Sad this shut down. I quite like the idea of an alternate universe where previous villains survived their original death scenes and continue to make trouble for Nate and friends. Heck, I feel like it wouldn't actually be too unbelievable for at least Eddy and Lazaravic to come back from their canon death scenes since they never showed a body. The games love Hollywood conventions so it's not like they can't make an extra scene where Eddy covers up a neck wound and manages to fight his way out of Panama or Lazaravic is so badass he fights off some of the Guardians, drinks the resin to heal more wounds, then escapes Shambhala on his own. The other villains I don't see coming back at all, though. Particularly Flynn, since the heroes visibly react to what is possibly a pile of bloody chunks.
Maybe someday it will comeback if enough people demand it. I'm sure some have been. I'd love to play it again with people and heck maybe with bots in competive/co-op sessions (to knock off rust mainly or of wifi sucks,lol). Good ideas, i highly doubt they would ever bring Eddy Raja or Lazaravic back though. Then again anything can happen if enough people request for it. Neat alternate universe concept. Imagine Nate's and his friend's reactions when they see the once dead villains still living, XD.

Kinda like cod but you can select what the bots would look like in either competitive or co-op mode for those that hate people/want to practice. That and just being able to play it again with active servers with people. Man i would be willing to pay money for that. Naughty Dog make it happen and just take my money, lol.

This online story is noncanon to the series. So they're taking some liberties and ignore the fact that some of these characters are dead.
It's funny because they hunt down Eddy and Flynn at the same time while Flynn only betrayes Nate after Eddy's dead. I guess it's non canon.
