    I moved to Zambia from UK and everyone thought I was crazy moving away from the western world but I don’t see myself going to live in London right now. It’s been 7 years and I’ve had two kids in Africa and I feel so settled. I actually feel my mental health has improved living here.

    I will say, just a matter of time, my wife, who is Jamaican, and I, we will be coming back to live in Ghana. I will be buying a house in Accra, not big house, but it will be decent home.

    You can get a tourist visa but you shouldn't use that as a residency visa. Overstaying your visa is not a small thing, and if you get someone applying the law correctly, you can be BARRED from returning. This is why so many people from North America are complaining on UA-cam - they MOVE to countries on TOURIST visas and then complain at having to leave after 90 days, the standard time for tourist visas. If you go/apply for the correct residency visa, you wouldn't have to do this, you can come and go as you please. Also the privilege is so real, if anyone from an African country overstayed in North America, they would be treated like criminals.

    • @RochelleOfficially
      @RochelleOfficially  9 місяців тому +3

      What do you mean? Ghanaians visit the neighbors! We even have a lot interactions with our neighbors, and are even blood and ethnically related. Visit Aflao or Elubo border crossing.
      We are not ignorant about Nigeria. It may not to be attractive to Ghanaians, especially those who have the means, for tourism purposes. We are not ignorant. As any potential tourists, we conduct our due diligence about countries we would like to visit!

    • @brofutv1853
      @brofutv1853 9 місяців тому

      @@Frank-Bediko62 this liar is all over the place blowing hot and cold and taking subtle digs at Ghana. The name Ghana lives rent free in their minds. The two-faced teller of tales even claimed, unwittingly, to be Ghanaian in another comment in a bid to hide their needless ill will. They don't know it's easy to figure them out.
      Hating on Ghana has become a favourite pastime of theirs online, while trooping into the country like a colony of ants at the same time. Someone has put measures in place to promote their country. Instead of doing same, you say no, let's go online and try to throw mud at this country for all the attention it is receiving. H33h, Africans!! After this, they'll then turn around and blame the CNNs of this world for being negative about Africa.

    I know you probably meant no harm stating there are no consequences to overstaying your visa. There are laws and as a visitor or resident of any country you must encourage people to adhere to laws of your host country. Ghana has laws and I think you need to be careful what you put out on your platform especially because you are a social media personality and a business owner; please be mindful of what you say in future. Ignorance of the law is never a good defence, and in Ghana people never know of the law until the day the law flexes its muscle.

      @Frank-Bediko62 I live in the West, and I know, but it's not so outrageous. I live in the US, but I mostly shop in African or Italian shops and prices although high, they are reasonable.

      @elainebrown3546. 😅Unfortunately as beautiful as my island home is . There are many many issues regarding personal safety . I moved back twice from Canada and the U.S. in recent years so I speak from personal experience. I have now been to Ghana twice in the past 2 years and I just returned after spending 1 year & 7 months there first time. It is very safe here and as a female I can walk day or night without fear . There is no comparison my dear. Trust me. One Luv

    Im Kenya and i thought Kenya was expensive but Ghana is worse. In Kenya we only pay deposit and one month pay. After that its monthly rent payments. I dont know why Ghana has these strange policies and competing with western prices.Maybe they only charge non nationals this way because they know they got money.

    • @Ghanadiaries
      @Ghanadiaries 9 місяців тому +2

      No, they charge everyone the same. It's against the law, but they don't enforce it. There are almost no government housing, so homeowners think they can do what they want.
      But you should know,not many Ghanaians are renting a whole house. They might rent a room or two and they pay less because they don't live in prime areas if they can't afford.

    • @yo-a
      @yo-a 9 місяців тому +1

      Let's not feed into the separatism that the West started and perpetuates.
      They charge Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians the same. And as the comment said above, there is a law (no more than 6 months up front) but they don't enforce it. Furthermore Ghanaian nationals have money too - despite what ever media you watch may portray. Most people own their house AND the land it is built on.

      Ghana doesn't have a crime issue. Now don't get me wrong we have crimes but it's not as worse as other African countries. It's one of the safest countries in Africa. The crimes isn't as bad as it is in Jamaica.

    The problem what people do who want to move to Africa from the Western countries is that they compare the money. Your perspective should be a bit different if you want to succeed doing business in Africa
