Great work on those booster box videos. I'm back from MTG break since early 2000s (stopped playing just before modern border, when 8th and Mirrordin came along) and that is my first set that I'm investing in. I've already opened bundle (standard, not gift one), which was a lot of fun, and lots of foil lands was a nice extra, however dice had imperfections (bubbles), not sure WOTC is doing good job with their quality control on those dice.
Anyways, tomorrow my MH3 collectors booster box will arrive. Will be my first time opening collector boosters so hope my beginners luck will bring me some MH3 goodies, but it'll be lots of fun either way.

Thanks for the kind words, mich appreciated. I also stopped playing just around Mirrodin and got back on like two years ago. It‘s a lot of fun, but hardly comparable to ‚the good old days‘ 😉 Good luck on the Collector display, I hope you get some great cards! Enjoy it

Isn’t Modern Horizons 3 also the most expensive set ever?

The pricetag sure is up there with some other candidates like MH2 or the Lord of the Rings set, but the average return is much higher in MH3

@@SirMittensPhD But you have to factor in that sets are always valued really high as they are being released. Then mostly go down. And years later maybe afew or a smaller percentage come back up.

@@draftmagicagain1000 Couldnt agree more! This set seems to pack the singles-value to back up the pricetag, though. Also WotC drastically reduced the printrun and as of now it seems (based on the pretty low availability of Collector Displays online) this set will hold up. I would not be shocked if it went up to 500$. As mentioned in the video: Value for me is not just money, but also the fun opening them and I actually think this set brings both financial value in singles if you open it (currently), as well as a potential investment for sealed product which will appreciate in value. I am generally interested to see how it develops and stored away a few sealed displays ;)

@@SirMittensPhD someone’s gotta open these things. They’re just way too expensive for me to justify touching this set. But it’s just a product that’s not for me.

@@draftmagicagain1000 Yes! I am in the incredibly fortunate position to be able to afford this set and store some away as an investment, but I also think it's a fine line of value vs "too expensive". A company like WotC will obviously try to shift this line towards the maximum profit and stretch it as much as possible. Magic, to me, has become very torn in between the aspects of actually playing these cards versus viewing them as collectibles/investments. However, I feel like everyone should get the experience of opening these products and enjoy them, so my videos aim to give access, insights, and some fun to anyone out there who maybe cannot :) Thanks for your comments and this very cool exchange! Much appreciated!

Value of some big cards, have dropped significantly though.

Yup, interesting development, let's see how they will perform in the long run
