The Stitch anime originally had no connection to the original show in the Japanese version, being more of a what if Stitch landed on a Japanese island instead of an Hawaiian island. Disney added in the boyfriend line to connect the Sitch anime with original TV series, and later had the Japanese retcon its own plot by adding Lilo into an episode, in which she is an adult and has a child and is looking to reconnect with Stitch... for an episode.
Izzy Guess what happened...Doozy bots...their concept became a cartoon/anime hybrid Tenkai Knights about a bunch of teenagers transforming into robots and saving the world...during the 2010s.😏 Eh...eh?!
Apparently for the Stitch one Lilo appears in a later episode (as an adult) and explains that it was all a misunderstanding. She then leaves Stitch with the girl, saying that it would be wrong to take him away from his new family. She also has a kid who looks like her younger self. Either way, fuck that anime.

Wilfred Cthulu I feel lucky to be one of the few who saw the Jhonny Bravo Bollywood episode when it came, I still remember it. And yes, Top Cat (Known as "Don Gato" in Mexico) was so popular here in Latinoamerica that you could see him everywhere in the 80s and 90s. I watch the show when kid and surprisingly I liked it :D
The Fist of the North Star animated movie was actually a popular cult film in the United States in the early 1990s, riding on the wave of Akira. It even received (not so great) reviews in the major American newspapers at the time of its U.S. theatrical release.
At least PPGZ is better than the reboot. Basically the anime follows the formula of a magical girl anime, which the main heroines are in their early teens transform (transformation scene included) and fight the villain of the week. Eh, it's made by Toei Animation, by the way, the same studio behind the Precure series (So I guess mahou shoujo fans could enjoy it...I don't know) and the parent studio did make Spider-Man into a tokusatsu hero with a giant mech.
KrystCyclone that same japanese Spiderman introduced the concept of Giant Robots to Super Sentai ( formely known as just Sentai ) that shows how much American products affect other parts of the world ( Top Cat being and example for mexico, and Heidy maybe for france )
I actually liked PPGZ when I was 9. I understood what anime was (my cousins introduced me into anime when I was small, so I knew Pokémon was anime and Dragon Ball too), this is why I didn't despised it. In fact, one of the main reasons why I liked it was because it was anime xD
...and now, as of 2022, since The Powerpuff Girls' 2016 ended abruptly in 2019, Craig McCracken announced that he will return to making more episodes of The Powerpuff Girls based on the classic 1998 versions of the characters sometime in 2023...

The reason why we mexicans love Top Cat is because its humor is very similar to the late Chespirito, one of the most famous mexican comedians. Also, as far as I know, every Transformer and TMNT cartoon has remade openings for Japan.
Dairanto actually transformers technically began in Japan as. a toy line named diaclone. It had the transforming gimic all America had to do is give it characters and plot.

One of the things I love so much about anime is that new episodes come out the same day every week for every anime of the season with very few exceptions, whereas here in the US most shows nowadays are on a hiatus for like 7 months then air like 3 episodes then go back in hiatus for the rest of the year or till very close to the end of the year.
That's because in anime they don't do much animating until like a special scene or a fight scene and they use 3d backgrounds meanwhile in cartoons they have to animate every single scene with character and in the case of cartoons nowadays also add scenes of sakuga while using handdrawn backgrounds.
It's a pun, in Japanese gum and turtle are almost the same word except for a bowel, it still is a bad joke and weird but Japan really really love puns.
Right at 16:32, where you hear "A new episode will come out sssssss..." my browser crashed. I honestly thought that the joke was just pausing for a long time for emphasis until I thought "Man, Pan sure is holding on this joke for a while..."
Anyone else hope they hire Studio Trigger someday to do a full Battlesaurs animated series, ala Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command? Because, lord knows that would be amazing...
Huke Sama Battlesaurs wouldn't be original? All they have is character designs. They could make an show they wanted, and Di$ney gets to sell even more merch.
Yeah, but it'd probably be the best of both worlds if they were able to work on such a show to get the money for something original but also super big and ambitious, like say a widely-theatrically-released 2d animated film...
Oh, Japan did remake the intros for other American cartoons in their own style, too. From my field of hobbies, there's the Japanese intro for Transformers Animated with super-fluent animation, epic combat scenes and angles, and even a very heroic theme song by JAM Project. One problem with it was that it revealed many secrets that took entire seasons to be revealed in-show. And Japan appareantly loves Toy Story so much that their leading toy maker Bandai made two sets of mecha-versions of the cast that could combine into larger Megazord-like robots (though this was started by a mecha team of Disney's classic mascots). Oddly enough, no toy of Transitron exists as of yet ;)
... So uh, they make mechas out of the non-mecha characters of the Toy Story movies, but not one of the only (As long as I know) mecha in the entire series? Seems about right. Yeah. Good job, Disney!
In their defense, the main selling point of these mech toys is exactly them being made of characters you usually would not asociate with robots, so the toys can potentially attract people with the charm of unconventionality. Transitron on the other hand was a robot from the start, and Bandai already makes hundreds of robot toys every year, both for kids and collectors, so they might have thought he would stand out less than a such a combiner. Then again, Bandai does like to cater to fans of various series and characters even if sometimes they are less recognisable, so I think that if the Woody and Buzz Lightyear "Megazords" will sell well, Transitron is not entirely out of the question in the future.
Ah! Well, yes. The extravaganza, alongside the fact that Transitron is not one of the most popular characters from Toy Story. I still want to see one in real life though!
Seems like you and Max Gilardi are the ones who understand the formula for powerpuff girls, which is why I feel you really should be in charge of it, not joking. Top cat is indeed really beloved here in latin America, Benny's voice was done by the late Jorge "El Tata" Arvizu, a notable comedian and voice actor who also dubbed the starring role on both the Get Smart series and movie, he was beloved by all and that CGI topcat film was his last work, he is dearly missed.
If the americanized Salor Moon and Gundam shows were made and became successful then they probably would have tried it with other anime. Just imagine an americanized cartoon series based off Dragon ball or Pokemon....guys i think we're in the right timeline after all.
According to Google as of the time of writing this, 40,000,000 pesos roughly converts to $2056789.20 American. That's pretty dang impressive if you ask me.
Better yet, at the time the dollar-peso currency exchange wasn't as big, so if you calculate for inflation, it would be even more money. Shame the movie was kinda shit.
"Lilo has new boyfriend." ...But...they didn't use that reason in the anime's second season. Okay, so in the second season of the anime, Stitch meets a girl who he thinks is Lilo and ditches what's-her-name in order to hang out with his old friend. But it turns out that it isn't Lilo, but Lilo's daughter, who was told all these fun stories about Stitch. And we then learn that the only reason Lilo and Stitch separated isn't because Lilo got a new boyfriend, but because she went to college and couldn't hang out as often. So teenage hormones didn't destroy their ohana, the system of higher education did! ...I'm not sure which explanation is worse.
I'd call it less a "what-if" and more an odd alternate continuity. While the English dub does make some weird plot holes in an attempt to make it a direct sequel, the show itself does acknowledge the original with an episode straight up called "Reunion with Lilo", where the stuff I describe does happen. (Also, it was a S3 episode, not S2. My bad.) So yeah, things are pretty muddled up here. O_o
Oh, and my avatar is Kat from Gravity Rush. Never played the games outside of a Vita demo in a Best Buy a few years back, but I've watched LPs and love the character.
THATS TRue! they kind of had a heart felt conversation but it kinda falls flat for Sitch to suddenly ditch Lola and his old home just cause she went to college for a couple of years
NowRacattackForce oddly enough i still remember that they both agreed to meet at one point and Lilo's only excuse for not being there was apparently because her sister was pregnant.
I would like to see how bizarre some cartoons can become as anime and vice versa -Kim Possible to anime would be like Aika R-16 -Shingeki no Kyojin would be Simbionit Titan -The loud house would be a straight Hentai -kabaneri of the iron fortress would be TWD with more trains

Doozy Bots didn't make up the idea of tiny fighting Gundams, it was based on SD Gundam which recently had a new PS4 game release. Also Sunrise the owners of Gundam came up with the idea for Doozy Bots as they wanted to bring Gundam to a western audience.
DareMan172?!?! My point is OVAs are usually A SINGLE EPISODE, NOT A SERIES and they usually aren't canon (for example look at the all the Naruto OVAs...NONE of them are canon to the series and some don't even match the art style or character types) pint is if it's a series it's not really an OVA IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE
Nah, most OVAs I know of have come out in multiple parts. Hell, the old (shitty) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure OVAs actually had a decade in between the two major releases.
Sometimes, they are two whole long episodes long... Still closer to a movie than a miniseries. Shouts to Sonic the Movie, which is notable for giving Knuckles a rather dapper hat, and also for being pretty weird, but not in a bad way.
when i saw johnny goes to Bollywood on "indian" cartoon network i paused the show. when outside and thought about my life for about 15 mins. Then i called my friends and we got high and watched the shit out out of that shit. and you were right on the humor being focused on Indians.

+RebelTaxi we all know you sometimes do "Research" on some sexy fan-animation stuff... you certainly know this guy (or girl?) who does these beautifull Gumball as Human and ANime Gravity falls animations, right? Well he (or she?) did one where his (or her?) version of anime Nicole and the official anime nicole used in the show, have some "fun time" with each other, and it has an amazingly funny twist ending. If you haven't seen it yet, look for it now! XD
I wouldn't. They'd replace the long periods of silence with endless exposition. If I want to see a samurai monologuing about everything that's happening in front of him, I'd watch Demon Slayer.
Except he can't. Even if the style was different, every woman he'd try to hit on will inevitably either backhand him in the face or kick him in the balls.
Powerpuff Girls Z, at least in my opinion, isn't half bad. I think it's biggest flaw is the fact that it's tied to a pre-existing property. People go into expecting something more akin to the original series and are turned off when they get something that's only loosely based on it. At least Z makes an attempt to seperate itself from the OG series, unlike the 2016 series that seems to think it's a continuation or something.
This was Disney Japan who made this. They sent it to the US and after universal hatred after the first 6 episodes, they didn't air the rest on XD. Plus its Non Canon. so the timeline goes as Lilo and Stitch, Stitch has a Glitch, Stitch the Movie, Lilo and Stitch the series, and Leroy and Stitch. That Japanese show is non existant.
aquapyro1 I think more of the Stitch anime aired here in the UK, on premium movie channel Disney Cinemagic. I did watch a handful of episodes back then. Even then I thought Stitch without Lilo was stupid. I did not see any of the first episode until now. Stitch without Lilo is like Ferb without Phineas or Pumbaa without Timon!
Authorial intent is dead. Since the anime didn't directly contradict the show/movies, unless more Lilo and Stitch media comes out to contradict the anime, there's no reason NOT to take it as canon (as long as it's good... which I think the original Japanese is). It's the Dragon Ball GT paradox ;)
alexandra galici No one really considers it canon considering the efect it had. Personally it just feels like Japan's lame excuse of making there own "perfect" Stitch show seeing how much Lilo pissed them off (which I just don't understand, how can you hate Lilo ?)
Been a One Piece fan for years, today I still keep up to date with the manga and play the video games. 4kids was a mistake but don't you be talking shit about the opening for that dub.

The bit with the 4kids national anthem reminds me of "The Fight for the Fox Box", a similar peculiarity where a bunch of unrelated clips from 4kids shows were smashed together with new dubbing to create a crossover special. Not sure if crossovers like that are done much anymore or if they ever were.
The Stitch anime originally had no connection to the original show in the Japanese version, being more of a what if Stitch landed on a Japanese island instead of an Hawaiian island. Actually not really, their have been people who have done experiments where they eat nothing but McDonald's for weeks or months but have not only gained no weight but actually lost some. They make sure to not eat over 2000 calories (the average amount to eat per day) and actually excerise ( and nothing extravagant just simply waking an mile or so a day).

Wilfred Cthulu Yeah it was I love learning new things that I never heard of before.
MC. Gemstone Why do I see you everywhere?
I don't know I'm everywhere really, I'm all over the internet! So yeah....
Cool.
...and now, as of 2022, since The Powerpuff Girls' 2016 ended abruptly in 2019, Craig McCracken announced that he will return to making more episodes of The Powerpuff Girls based on the classic 1998 versions of the characters sometime in 2023...

I can't think of a better cartoon character to get the Bollywood treatment than Johnny Bravo. This is fucking brilliant.
The reason why we mexicans love Top Cat is because its humor is very similar to the late Chespirito, one of the most famous mexican comedians.
Also, as far as I know, every Transformer and TMNT cartoon has remade openings for Japan.
Yes.

Dairanto actually transformers technically began in Japan as. a toy line named diaclone. It had the transforming gimic all America had to do is give it characters and plot.

I would love to see a Battlesaurs cartoon or anime. I love the concept and idea of it.

Make Disney channel great again! Make Battlesaurs a real cartoon show!
The Mutant Oh my God, yes!
The Mutant We're gonna build a wall around the Hub and make DHX pay for it!

Wallas Toy Reviews Wallas? You here?
Toys and animation, especially stuff like Transformers, interlock very tightly. So yes, I do follow a few animation-oriented channels :)

J Smith Calm down there, kid.

You know way too much about this and your propic looks a lot like a Yu-Gi-Oh card called El Shadoll Construct. You're hiding something, ain't ya!

Doozy Bots didn't make up the idea of tiny fighting Gundams, it was based on SD Gundam which recently had a new PS4 game release. Also Sunrise the owners of Gundam came up with the idea for Doozy Bots as they wanted to bring Gundam to a western audience.
OVA stands for "Original Video Animation"
+Brian Jr Spero WELL NO SHIT Sherlock Holmes.
Most OVAs form a series. Like Legend of the Galactic Heroes with 110 episodes.
Fist of the Northstar is now known as the origin of the Nani meme.

It's the Dragon Ball GT paradox ;)
aquapyro1 why do they hate lilo?
alexandra galici No one really considers it canon considering the efect it had. Personally it just feels like Japan's lame excuse of making there own "perfect" Stitch show seeing how much Lilo pissed them off (which I just don't understand, how can you hate Lilo ?)
