  • What's your preferred time of day to fish in the Autumn ? ( please feel free to comments below )
The first named storm of the season arrives and the winter gear gets an outing. Fishing a cage pellet feeder over a bed of pellets and hemp produces a hard fighting pocket barbel.

Hi Keith, They're are good rods but my only criticism is it feels that they have too many rings. Many thanks as always for taking the time to comment and your continued support.

Hi love the videos, no music, no inane chat, angling as it used to be before commercial fisheries and drum and base.

Hi Harry, It's great to hear I've enticed you back for another visit. This was the smallest barbel and by far my most prized fish of last year. It took a few attempts to get the night filming to work so I appreciate the feedback.

Your videos perfectly represent what fishing is to me. Careful planning, perseverance, love of nature. And...silence. No need to communicate the sensations that we fishermen feel, those who need to understand will understand on their own. A technical question: don't you think that in similar conditions, maggots in a block end would give better results? Thank you, and compliments.

Hi, thank you for your very kind compliments and taking the time to watch and comment. My voice would do nothing more that break the spell and pollute the moment. The river at the moment is brimming with young small fish which would devour maggots, it is however a very effective method in the latter part of the winter and one which I will be using to speak out the big chub. Thanks again for your time it's truly appreciated .

Takes me back I'd be getting ready to go having looked at the barometer and say to my dad are you coming " you must be joking in that bloody wind ' he missed out on some good nights but on those occasions when yours truly blanked I got the old I told you so routine . 🤣 great film as usual and that robin is singing his autumn song I think the word I'm looking for is somber. 👍

@@trev_the_t5437 I'm filming a Day Ticket series on the Wye this winter so keep checking in on the channel.
Hereford A.A are great value for a season ticket. Have a look at the Fishing Passport if you like something a bit more rural. Hope this helps
