This is not to boast but confirm what Andrew said. I downloaded probably 50 teachings from his website that I couldn't afford but changed my life. This message is so true. I have learned to listen ever since I heard our Pastor taught us that we got to lift our concerns to God and wait for His word. I heard God in my thoughts when I asked Him to help me analyze my research. He said sit down & open your computer. Then I asked...then what's next Lord. He said read your report slowly. The hard thing is that most devout Christians I know that believe they hear from God have been wrong so many times & it turns out that it was just their opinion & feeling about a situation instead of hearing form God.

Maybe you'll cover it later on, but seems to me the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for guidance, like tongues with interpretation, word of knowledge, wisdom and prophecy. Regarding knowing a character of a person, that can come from the gift of discernment. I guess I tend to shy away from simple subjective guidance (not part of the gifts), as I've been burned by it too many times.
