The suspect in the tipped over porta potty was in deep sh*t! 🤣 Also why so wordy? Wanted for taking a man’s life”?! Why not just say “murder” or “homicide”?
If the police’s insurance carrier wouldn’t pay, the city/county/police department should have paid. Mr Carol shouldn’t have to go through this when he did absolutely everything right! If his little girl had been injured or killed, I guess they wouldn’t pay either. Police get a bad wrap a lot of the time. They should be looking for every opportunity to support their community & citizens. Being “protected” from being accountable & being given “immunity”, while causing harm to those they’re sworn to protect, is the reason people don’t trust police anymore.
10:24 I remember when this hit the news. That is definitely the officer’s fault. You can literally hear him flooring it. Sure snow and ice may have played a part, but stomping the throttle wont help
Shouldn't the officer have gotten a ticket for driving to fast for conditions? When he hit the guys truck? And owes him a new truck? Because he totalled it? And why is it , when I got a ticket for driving a little bit to fast on the pavement, it was a little wet? But it was a sharp curve and I spun around and wrecked my car. And I got a ticket? But the officer gets away with it? How does that work? Ohh! I see now? I forgot they are above the law? Therefore they can get away with it?
Regarding the incident where the Brooklyn, Ohio police officer slid on ice, presumably, and therefore lost control of his cruiser, and smashed into the back of a citizen's pickup truck, here is where an ADDITIONAL CRIME has been committed: As mentioned via the video presenter's narrative, the Brooklyn, Ohio police chief refused comment! Now that's what I call a total a**h*le of a man who absolutely refused to "step up" and see what he could do (himself and/or through his department CONTACTS) to help this kind and law-abiding citizen get another vehicle to replace his totaled truck that his insurance would not cover for replacement. That is a real coward! Let me see that again, this police chief is a real coward for not providing ANY comment to the situation. Screw protocol here, and make a professional judgment call where you don't feel compelled to put into the mix here the usual concern regarding, that being generous, you would start a trend that "if we do it for this guy, then we will have to do it for somebody else"--attitude. Look at just THIS situation, and be willing, for once, to circumvent the usual bulIs**t, knowing, as well, there would be 16,538 pages of documentation that would go on file, and you would be held accountable for similar situations down the road, if you dare engage in a CHARITABLE ACT! F**k it! Take care of this immediate situation for a man who is in GREAT NEED of a vehicle! (Using the present tense here is on purpose.) You have a vulnerable--and venerable--hard-working, and kind and loving citizen, who did the RIGHT THING, but just got "abused" by the police. I hope that your GoFundMe account has, by now, provided sufficient funds to replace his truck. And I hope that the police chief someday SOON finds HIMSELF locked inside a porta-potty, and somebody comes along and knocks it over, because that chief was not worth any more than what he would now be covered in...all because he chose NOT TO DO THE RIGHT THING on his end! (And change that damn Ohio law regarding protection for the police departments from reimbursing citizen victims of police negligence on the open road.) Now I'm beginning to feel ashamed that I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 8 years in the 1950s. Is this is the kind of legacy that I now have to live with? ~drs (07/28/24)
As an Ohio police officer, I can tell you that you are completely wrong about how it works. The man cannot collect damages beyond what his truck repairs cost but the agency is not totally off the hook like you stated.
Officers have destroyed someones home with a bearcat equipped with a ram, someone broke in while they were on vacation and the police pushed the whole front of the house in, causing it to be deemed unsafe for habitation and condemned.. the city and insurance refused to pay out, leaving the owners with a home they cannot use and must keep paying for.. it happens often where officers who damage homes or property while performing duties are protected and victims left with no recourse... Vehicle damaged in a police chase can be denied coverage, since they were involved with a chase.
@@TurtleTole94 Anything can be denied coverage but what is your point? These are not freebees for any department and is the reason THEY TOO have insurance payments on police vehicles!
17:13 It stated that “NO ONE WAS INJURED” and yet the man went to the HOSPITAL where he made a FULL RECOVERY!! I thought no one was injured? Go figure.
I agree. But I think that there is some UA-cam clause that mandates that “everything is fine” and no need to worry. I see this in many of the Chinese based clips.
Since when have those psychopaths ever taken resposibility for their actions? They can destroy citizens property without care...and yet, the same citizen has to pay taxes that pay the salery of those public welfare sucking organizations.

"... crashed into your car and totaled it." You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Being "totaled" is determined by two factors. One, the vehicle is not drivable on the road, and two, the cost of the repairs to make the vehicle roadworthy would cost more than buying a vehicle. The truck has a dent in it. I don't know how much the truck is worth, but surely it's cheaper to fix the dent than buying a new truck. Besides, the damage is largely aesthetic, meaning the driver doesn't even _have_ to repair is if he doesn't want to. If the truck is still drivable, it isn't totaled.
you can't tell how damaged a car is by looking at it, that's not how it works. vehicles are complicated, with hundreds if not thousands of parts. anything could be broken under there, who are you to say that it's fine?
