  • DON'T MISS PART 2 AND 3!!
    I saw the original video, and as so many people were asking what they were saying, I decided to make my own video with English subtitles. Enjoy!
    I have had permission from the original owner to use their video, as they wanted it translated aswell.
    Video originally belongs to: @tribaltaisan
    There are two other interviews, don't miss them!!!!

    To someone who doesn't speak Welsh, this sounds like the pissed, posh man off the fast show. "Mumble, mumble, mumble, I was very, very, drunk"

    Welsh is one of several Celtic languages, which include, Scottish, Irish, Manx, Cornish and Breton.

    @oiStuartx What is the point in English? It is a language for a certain country, like Scotland and Ireland have too. Something personal to that country which makes it different.

    Granted there are no subtitles so I don't understand a word they're saying but for someone who's interviewing Iwan, she sure is doing all of the talking. I want to hear Iwan even if I don't understand a word.

  • @smilingtigergirl
    @smilingtigergirl  13 років тому +2

    @ravenwyld It's good to hear that you're progressing with your learning. It is going to be hard to pronounce LL, but you will get there. My Dad is English, but can say LL perfectly fine because my name starts with it. It's also nice to hear that you'll give your children Welsh names. If I were to give you a word of advice, I wouldn't give them a word that's hard to pronounce for an English person. When I introduce myself to English people I get embarrassed about their struggle.

    jesus what is the welsh language

      It's a language from Wales.

    • @lrdr5404

      @Moses SingletaryWow, you're being fundamentally offensive about Iwan's native language; what a hilarious guy you are. 🙄

    • @lrdr5404
      @lrdr5404 5 років тому +2

      @Moses SingletaryNo, your attempt at humour about Welsh is old and boring. Nothing new about any of this at all. Claiming Welsh is actually English and associating it with being drunk is just old, cliche and boring.

    • @lrdr5404
      @lrdr5404 5 років тому +2

      And your claim that you can joke about it because you might possibly be part Welsh is the first funny thing you've said.

    • @lrdr5404
      @lrdr5404 5 років тому +1

      @Moses SingletaryInstead of coming up with convoluted ways of insulting me (salt mines? snow angels?), which are no more devastating than your jokes are funny, you could just acknowledge that calling Welsh English and its speakers drunks wasn't a really good idea.

  • @ravenwyld

    @smilingtigergirl thanx. im not getting it as fast as id like but im making strides learning the tricks like F is V and DD is TH. there are some odd ones that cant even compare to English like how LL is a sort of LTH sound doing a weird thing with your tongue. i have an audio book of how to speak welsh, Scottish Gaelic, Irish Gaelic, and Breton. if i ever have kids they are getting welsh names.

  • @OwenRalph
    @OwenRalph 11 років тому

    I think it sounds like that partly because Rheon starts with the Welsh letter 'rh' which is pronounced differently to a normal 'r'

  • @smilingtigergirl

    @ravenwyld It's not really necessary that you can roll your r's. I'm Welsh but occasionally struggle doing so, but doesn't impare what I'm trying to say. I have a lot of friends who are the same. Keep at it and you'll soon find yourself rolling them without even trying or having even learnt to do so :)

    @xChasingSummerx Look, I really hate it when people have arguments completely unrelated to the video theyre watching, so Im only going to humour you one more time, plus I dont know why you care so much to be honest. I made a sweeping comparison. Get over it. Ive studied both Italian and Spanish in college and found them to be remarkably similar in loads of cases, eg: leche/latte caliente/caldo pluma/piuma. Im not making the point that theyre the same, only that theyre similar in places
