I throw my curveball with two fingers on the horseshoe. Not on the straight part of the the seam, but the U part. Do you get more spin from where he throws it?
I love watching these guys break it down. Young kids today, take advantage of what they are giving you. I can't imagine how powerful these sort of opportunities to could have been when I was a kid. Most could never access this level of a sport. Good stuff!
Thank you so much for having a lefty pitcher on to discuss his curveball! I really rely on that first pitch, the backdoor curveball that hitters give up on, to get the majority of my strike outs! Really love his thought process. Right now I have a sinker, slider, 12-6 curve and changeup that I throw, all with the same mentality as Hector!
awesome information!!! i was looking for the best tips on ho to probably throw my curveball as a lefty and this makes perfect sense. Thank you guys so muchhhhh
Should the ball be firmly touching the area of your hand between your index finger and thumb, or should it be loose? At about 2:20 in the video he sticks his finger from the other hand in that area. I am not sure if he is doing that to say that you should be able to have a finger width of space between the ball and that area or if it should be tight there.
Thank you so much for this video. Everyday trying to improve my rotation for my curveball and other pitches. Would you do a video about wind up movement and how you can generate more power off your hips rotating. Thank you!
I’m a short guy (5’7). Some people tell me that my height is not ideal for a pitcher but I don’t listen to them. So far I’ve been practicing my slider and curveball watching your videos and I’m seeing some good results. But I struggle throwing a changeup because it hurts my arm whenever I try to throw it
My son will be 11 in a few months and loves pitching. He has been trying to learn some new pitches other than his fastball on his own as he loves to watch UA-cam videos on them. What would you say is a good pitch for him to get and really work on as his second pitch?
I'll take it on my self,Once I'm on A school that has Baseball I'll join. I wanna be a catcher and I needed to be healthy Cause I'm 15 and I'm getting Sick easily but not Covid.
Good information here, that squeezing thingy just increased my curve from 79 to 83 mph. But I guess with my age of 28 (and being European) makes it kinda impossible to impress somebody with a 91 FB, a 79mph circle change and a 83 curve :(
@@jhomie1601 I usually played short stop, third base or pitcher. Now it's more third base or pitcher, but the bat works fine though! Hit a few years ago over .400 in the second league in germany
a knuckle curve and a regular curve have no difference besides the grip. I recommend trying to throw a slider, look up Robby Rowland’s DeGrom slider breakdown and try that. Hope all goes well!
@@bray2424 i tried learning the slider couple years back just wasn't breaking the way it was suppose to. So my old coach showed me this knuckle curve but you throw it like a fastball. Started throwing it and i get that red dot spin. Last couple of months ive been trying to increase the spin rate but its proving to be a difficult challenge
@@seroromix i would try to find a pitch that moves how you want. i sounds like maybe try a trevor bauer slider because that moves laterally only. Or possibly try a kershaw slider. If you want more of an off speed pitch try a slurve. If the k-curve you’re throwing right now is working but you can’t get higher spin i would try throwing it as hard as you can, or just play around with the grip.

Changeup is the best pitch to learn early
I think I'll choose Baseball over taekwondo, Unfortunately There wasnt any baseball team on where I'm living in.

I think it will be fun if you also do Cathing Videos.
Well, he uploaded a hour long video full of catching drills if you're interested.

Any tips for knuckle curveball? I throw it more like a slider than a curve.
