Thanks Craig, that's a very informative video. I'd had trouble getting my Brugmansia to flower now but now see that I'd underestimated their need for feed.
I grow datura stramonium, where the flowers grow gacing up. I wish I could find more videos about them! Lol all I see are the angels trumpets, mine are called jimsonweed, moon flowers, devils trumpet. Yall let me know if there are any videos I don't know about please!
I feed mine EVERY time I give them water. and mostly double the normal amount of fertilizer that I use for other plants. The biggest one needs 20 liter of water every day.
Thank you so much for the great care video! I'm just starting out with some cuttings that were gifted to me and this has been the most helpful info I've found! ❤
Ive put my brugmansia outdoors now. Its well watered and given fertiliser but the leaves seem to be more pale yellow than green, am i doung something wrong? 😢
Could be multiple issues. Yellowing leaves are usually a sign of overwatering or lack in nutrients. Id let it dry back a bit and the next time you do a heavy water add some balanced plant fertiliser and see if that will help it come back.
hi, I've been feeding with tomato fertiliser. Not sure if that's enough or if I should try something else. It's in a large container pot in corner of garden so gets sunshine, when we have it.
@@susannaylor451 sorry this is so late, but id suggest buying a fish fertiliser, (I prefer the Alaska brand) what’s nice about this is it won’t burn your plant so there’s no worry of over fertiliser. I don’t think it’s from lack of light but they do love the sunlight but for the most part are very tolerable in any lighting.
I'm so jealous I lost all mine in my big pots inwiltshire over winter. They are going to look great at the gardens there in Abbotsbury when they get going.
They’re very easy to grow where nights are cool and days aren’t too hot. My climate is overly hot and overly humid in summer with very warm nights. Winters are overly dry yet still warm. Brugs are a bit challenging to grow in my area. There’s so many pests and fungal diseases that just love brugs here. In our warm dry winters spider mites become the main issue. I do collect Brugs but they need my constant attention here and I have to be innovative to solve all the challenges they face in my area.
Hi Craig, this year was my first time growing Brugmansia and I'm hooked. I'd like to try something more exotic looking like the variety in your video. Can you please tell me how many parts Neem Oil to water you use? Jasmin 🌸
Thanks for this video (as with your other drug videos). I've got four and have tried them planted in the ground this year for the first time (two in the glasshouse border and two in the garden). They have grown big and two have flowered well. I know I will have to dig up in the next couple of months and put in the heated glasshouse but I think they will take a hard prune before digging up.
My brugmansia sanguinea has been in the ground for 4 years now and comes back and flowers every year. Even a couple of years ago after being buried under snow for a week. Of course it’s cut back to the ground but it seems to be root hardy with a couple of bags of compost piled on it.
This year I kept mine in the tire towers (tires provide extra heat and protection during the winter and also discourage wildlife and insects) over the winter. I also wrapped them in cuttings from a solar blanket - like the one we use for our koi pond. I'm anxious to see if they make it and come back in the spring. Fingers crossed because the plants were beautiful. It was my first year growing them.
Is there a way to encourage branching or do you just let them do their own thing. I have small leaves growing in the crotch of the main stem and a large leaf. If I break that large leaf off will that form a branch?
I was given one (cutting) which I popped in the ground its about 6in tall now with a few paired leaves. My question is this. I want to place it in a pot. We are just entering autumn. Do I leave it in the ground through autumn/and winter ( we don't have terribly cold winters here maybe down to around 10 +/- deg C) or can I dig it up and place it in a pot now? Thanks
I have pink and yellow plants which grow ingrown, i live in Atlanta, GA. Both plants bloom very well and I agree with the information in your video. My current plants are propagated by cuttings rooted in water indoors over winter. I have never seen seed pods develop on my plants and my garden has many pollinators, so I don't believe that is my situation. Do you have any clues that help with my lack of seed pods? Thanks
Hey, do you have any cuttings for sale (both pink and yellow). I’m in Virginia, but I’m from Georgia as well. 😊I lived in Atlanta for a decade prior to moving up here. I first saw this plant in Canada a couple weeks ago and have been fascinated ever since.
@GrowParadise thank you. I was given a cutting from a friend so didn't have a clue what to do as it was going into October. So I kept it in my mini greenhouse which at the time was indoors. I've potted up the cutting which is about 12inches high and full of leaves. Your video has helped me understand the plant more now 👍😊
Oh dear, I’ve kept my new plant indoors this winter.. shall I put it outside in a frost free greenhouse for the next month? Then water & feed++ in April?
Hi, I have a question. I ordered 2 double flowered whites las year. One started to bloom immediately and the other still has not had any flower. It has the same treatment as the other. What can I do to have flowers? I had Brugmansias before and never had this issue. The plant itself looks really healthy. Any ideas?
my plant leaves are turning yellow and falling off. I've read it can be too much water or not enough water. Any way to figure this out? The plant was in a pot I thought might have been too small so I transplanted it into a bigger pot and added granular organic fertilizer in the dirt. Not quite sure what else to do.
Thanks Craig, that's a very informative video. I'd had trouble getting my Brugmansia to flower now but now see that I'd underestimated their need for feed.
I have 6 growing and they are massive.
You are amazing, I have grown lots of tropical plants here, brogmansia, pasiflora passion fruit vines.plumerias and more
I grow lots of these they are so simple also if you take your cutting just below the y. You will have a short plant that still flowers
This was very informative. I just acquired a spindly one and wasn't sure how to care for it. Great information. Thank you.
Have salmon perfection, pink, white, double yellow, single bloom yellow, creame burleigh, adube sanguine looking forward to getting more tips from you
Great video Craig, thanks. You've just shown me why my large Brugmansia has no flowers ! I'm off to do some feeding and will get it right next year.
Recently got a cutting from a friend. Looking forward to growing it here in Florida. I learned a lot from your video, thanks!
Massively helpful video thank you for the information ❤
You're so welcome!

Thank you so much - everything I needed to know about Brugmansia!
I feed mine EVERY time I give them water. and mostly double the normal amount of fertilizer that I use for other plants. The biggest one needs 20 liter of water every day.
Wow! 20 liters every day! How big is your Brugmansia? Is it in the ground or a pot?
My yellow is in the ground blooms often my flesh color is in a pot hardly blooms
Thank you so much for the great care video! I'm just starting out with some cuttings that were gifted to me and this has been the most helpful info I've found! ❤
You are so welcome! Have fun growing them 😀🪴
Thank you so much. I learned everything I needed her.
Great video 🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for sharing your experience with this beautiful plant.
My pleasure 😊
hi i got seeds in a pot and ordered 3 plants online..they arrived today so will grow them up then put them in pots outside..hope it works

Eat the leaves let it sprout new

You may also use 1 tbsp of Epson Salt to 1 gal of water will help feed your plants also...

They are also surprisingly easy to grow from seed! I’m looking forward to seeing lots of them at Abbotsbury too, it’s the perfect spot for them 😀

I'd love if you could share some of the tips you've got for growing brugmansias in a difficult climate like yours 🙂

Just transferred my angel trumpets from water to pots have good rooting it's winter time here in the US shouldI start fertilizing now or should I wait
why did you smell the flower at the beginning? isn't it poisonous and have similar effects to datura stronium?
How long did it take to start feeling that wiff you did

How to know different between pink and white Brugmansia leaves?
I have to purchase this yellow dhatura plant.
They are very beautiful 😀

no one's mentioned how much light they need? must be a minimum amount of sun? thx

Hi i feed most of my plants with tomato fertiliser and all doing really well, can i use on my brugmansia?
Absolutely! They are actually in the same Family as tomatoes 😀
@GrowParadise thank you. I was given a cutting from a friend so didn't have a clue what to do as it was going into October. So I kept it in my mini greenhouse which at the time was indoors. If it’s happy indoors then it’s not a problem 😀
My brugmansia is doing very well but it drops most of its buds before they bloom. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Don’t let it dry out, and feed twice a week with a high phosphate fertiliser (liquid tomato feed). That should help.
Can it be grown as a houseplant over winter if we don't have a cold spot ?
It can.
Hi, I have a question. I ordered 2 double flowered whites las year. One started to bloom immediately and the other still has not had any flower. It has the same treatment as the other. What can I do to have flowers? I had Brugmansias before and never had this issue. The plant itself looks really healthy. Any ideas?
Feed with liquid tomato food, that will help encourage more blooms 😀
@@GrowParadise thanks so much for your answer, I will try that and let it know
How do I remove spent flowers? Do I just remove the white flower, or do I also remove the green part from which the flower grows?
Removing the green part will help put more energy into new flowers rather than allowing seed pods to develop :D

Brugmansia need LOTS of feeding, preferably twice a week. The leaves will quickly turn yellow if it is under fed.
Hello, may you give me seeds.
I want this plant in my Garden 🏡
What hardiness zone is he is in?
In here (India) I feed them mustard cake liquid fertilizer....try that
Interesting!
Isnt this plant poisonous even to breathe in?
It can also get you super high 😍
So there poisonous to use I assume to animals too. So I can't bring it in. Too bad there beautiful
