I'm a fan of Dubz but I think he needs to tweak a couple of things.
0:28-1:00 he chooses to rhyme everything with 'wait'. It's just a bit weak. You gotta mix it up.
1:20-2:00 it's a bit all over the place, the flow is questionable.
He uses polysyllabic bars when it should be monosyllabic (eg. "youngfellas")
My (unwanted) suggestion:
- Dubz's best song is Recipe. Perhaps use this beat as a benchmark for future songs. You want songs that people will listen to while walking or in their cars. Keep that in mind, because these slow songs will barely get 5k views.
- Maybe increase the BPM. Hire a songwriter and/or collab with others.
I hate to say it, especially as a fan, but he gotta switch it up somehow. These types of songs will never blow up. He's friends with the Versatile boys(?) and there's miles apart, albeit different styles.
